**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

It'll run like ass because it's Bethesda, it'll be the same on consoles too. Oblivion runs like a dog on my system yet Witcher 3 is smooth as silk? Skyrim was okay but honestly without an SSD and it being installed on a seperate drive to what my OS is, that doesn't have great performance either.

Fallout 3 bluescreens every 10 minutes and New Vegas stutters like a 3 legged horse! This might be better though, the further away from Gamebryo they go with Creation, the better it will run.

Weird I've literally had no issues with any of those games at all, with a I7 2600k and gtx480 for fallout 3 and skyrim (modded) and 670-970 with all of those.

Likewise...

In fact I'm pretty sure I had FO3 running perfectly @ 1080p on my old Laptop with a C2D T6600 and Mobility Radeon HD 4570...

Skyrim runs far better (unsurprisingly) than TW3 on my current PC @ 3440x1440 (even modded up to the eyeballs). Sounds like you've just been unlucky with the games ;)

I ran a Gtx 260 with an athlon II for a run of both FO3 and new vegas on a "spare parts" PC in our other room.... to be fair, other than some slow-down when incurring the wrath of the entire Ceasors legion camp in NV, it ran both fine and allowed me to put a ton of hours into both. Good times.

I keep reading about Bethesda games being hit and miss performance wise, but I've done too many hours on all of their open world games on a variety of AMD/Nvidia/single/dual card set-ups with no real issues. Luck of the drawI guess

It sounds as if some PEBKAC is at play here.

Why are people so startled by recommended specs all of a sudden, it's like your not even PC gamers! :p They've always been woefully inaccurate and are designed for only the worst case scenarios. I'm below recommended (albeit not really 'cause OC'd 7850), but I'm still expecting to run at fairly high settings 1080p/60fps, based off all the other recent titles where min/rec specs were ridiculously high for no apparent reason (e.g., GTAV (very high), TW3, Battlefront, etc...)
30fps maybe.

Didn't really have problems running Skyrim w/ Athlon x3 455, 4GB RAM and an HD5870. However that came out 4 years ago! There seems to be a major bump in the minimum specs of this game compared to others, I mean 8GB minimum! Consoles don't have that much RAM why does the PC version need it. Lasy Bethesda is lasy.

Sounds like a Hardware/ridiculous amount of mods Issue.

I've never encountered a blue screen with F3, it crashes a lot with win 7/8/10 as it was released without full support for them - same goes for Oblivion obviously... Comparing it to witcher 3 which was released this year is a bit silly.

F:NV is rock solid though as is skyrim.

I'm really looking forward to this, I haven't played a fallout game on release. I've recently been watching a Kill all NPC's run on YouTube which is just making me want to play more :)

I haven't followed thread, is there computer specs yet?
