**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Few good references so far, "kale" locks, "exit through the gift shop", am very curious to see what the "Jimmy hats" do.

Edit: Rad resistance, nice

Hmm, PC works fine but copying the entire folder to the steamdeck results in the London background on the main screen but it's still FO4 menus/saves/etc and if starting a new game it starts FO4.

Going to totally delete and copy across again

Had a quick play this morning and opened up the entire map (console command), had a wander around the landmarks and they've done a really great job.
Some of the character names are brilliant, my fav so far is
Bullet tooth Anthony

Not had a single crash so far (PC).

I had this problem, what I read was to rename or delete the Fallout4Custom.ini file.

In addition as I had the “my games/fallout4” folder in a full onedrive which caused issues I also removed the entire “my games/fallout4” folder, ran FO4 from steam, quit, ran “update” from GOG and then ran London. Worked in the end!

I replaced the deck /mygames/fallout4/ with the PC version, that made the menus/loading icon/intro video etc FOLON too but again starting a new game it went into Fallout4 character creation but he was wearing a GoG Tshirt! Aah, I need to spend more time on this later (I also deleted the prefs file)

Think I have figured it out. You need the config files from the __config subfolder of FO London installer moving to the equivalent in deck prefix (looks like you have done already technically) and also the files from _appdata subfolder copying to appdata/local/fallout4 in the deck pfx for the game.

(May also need faudio installing if having missing sounds like voices)

So I'd renamed the /My Games/fallout4 folder on PC to let it reset, that messed up my PC version and I got the same menus for FOLON but startign a game was vanilla F4. So I reveresed that and made sure my PC version was working fine, then:

Booted the game on PC and made sure it was ok and had a FOLON save.
Deleted Fallout4 folders under /Documents/My Games/ and compatdata /steamuser/AppData/Local/
Replaced the above with PC version

It works! Just going through the intro and will see what performance is like :)

EDIT: ahahahaha, I'm in desktop mode and can't type my name it, another reboot it is

Restarted the deck, opened the game, it put me in diamond city, under the Doc shack wih no clothes...

So I deleted all saves, restarted the game and delete the exit game saves, then started a new game. Seems to be working fine now.

High settings, have it @ a locked 30 @ 10W, will see if I can tweak that for longer battery life.

Spotted my first spelling mistake "cilinder" ..

I thought I had solved my crashing at the train bit yesterday by reinstalling fresh with the 1.15 downgrader but now it's crashing when trying to leave the pub.

Wondering if it just buying GOTY on GOG for £14 instead is worth saving me the frustration of trying to solve it.

EDIT: Okay, installing Buffout 4 mod seems to have solved that crash.

I REALLY hope there's a ghouled "Liz n Phil" somewhere under buckingham palace (or windsor if it reaches that far, unlikely) stuck in a fallout shelter. Might be a bit in bad taste now with her recently departing but would have been an awesome nod otherwise :D

Great effort by the devs, but Jeebus H Christ, the load screen times are game breaking beyond belief.
I exited a building (2.5 minutes) then fast travelled to another (2 minutes) then entered another building (1.5 minutes), it's just awful and breaks immersion.
That said, I had time to hoover, wash the dishes/car, read a couple of books and took a short holiday in between, so not all bad.
It's almost like they looked at Starfield load screens and said "we can beat that".
Terrible,
