**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

It hasn't fixed the repair bug. Had that happen again earlier today.

Also, apparently mods are no longer able to be installed with the current patch.

I can say for certain that isn't true. I have several mods installed. I uninstalled 2 that were broken by the patch (the others continued to work) and installed them yesterday after the mod authors released a new version of the mods to work with the latest patch. I just played a bit to check and the mods are working fine.

Not game mods, but mods to weapons and armour.

I tested that today, doing ~100 weapon mods for challenges. Works fine.

When repairing, does anyone else have a bug where after repairing something and going back to the list of guns/armour and it's no longer displaying any of the stats of the item that's highlighted? Just shows a blank box off to the left?

Yes, I do. I don't know when it happened because I only just noticed it.

I also have the problem that the weapon and armour rewards from the sheepsquatch quests are pink for me and any I see on another player are also pink. That makes me think that I'm missing some texture data from the last patch, which is probably due to me having mods installed.

Aha, found it! 03UpdateStream.ba2 and 03UpdateTextures.ba2 have been added with the last patch. Open both default and custom ini, copy contents of sresourcelist2 in default ini, delete contents in custom ini before the entries for mods, paste in contents from default. Job done.

I'd rather not lose clean power armour HUD (although it's still dusty in the corners - why is that a thing? Of course you'd clean the visor!), Better Inventory (for showing the weight of a stack of items, not just the weight of 1 of that item, the total weight in each category and the ability to filter within a category, e.g. show just food items), I like it raw (for showing your actual building budget in addition to the bar) and Save Everything (to prevent selling/dropping/scrapping items marked as equipped or favourite).

I'm constantly watching out for the lode bearing and monster mash events as I'm grinding tokens to redeem for the highest level of stuff. It had better be good stuff because it's a lot of grinding. Although I'm fairly sure it'll be random crap worse than what I already have.

Lode Bearing does not give much except loads of Ore & Monster Mash is usually just a Mask so IMO not worth the grind at all for the rewards. Neither is the new Sheepsquatch event. You have a 0.003% chance of getting the costume featured in the Bethesda PR but surprise surprise you can buy a similar looking one for 800 Atoms

Thats for the highest level reward? 100 claim tokens, 5000 monster candy? Each of which requires completing the event about a dozen times.

Costumes you can't wear with power armour anyway, so what's the point of them? I suppose I could respec into the overpowered melee and then I wouldn't need power armour, but the bottom line is that I don't want to. It's stupid that a lightly armoured person with a couple of daggers strapped to a glove is more powerful than a person in an armoured powered exoskeleton with a magic shotgun and a magic rifle and a magic machinegun.

You need to finish 1st to get the highest reward this event also attracts the absolute worse players who are very sneaky! The only reward worth having from it is a monster mask you cannot get elsewhere but the grind to get it is IMO way too frustrating for something you will hardly ever wear! Most players need to play the event & not finish 1st about 75-100 times to get enough for the monster mask.

The Burrows (new higher level dungeon) goes live this afternoon some time. That is going to be different.

I just spent about 2 days grinding for the Flux material's to make both a Jetpack & Both Calibrated Shocks for a T51b @ Level 50 (which also took a long time to find all the level 50 pieces!).

Now I am planning to make Jetpacks & Calibrated Shocks for all of my Power Armour (this will take a very long time!).

@Angilion I have a spare T60 Jetpack Plan for sale for only 3000 Caps (that is the default ingame price between players). The Vendor shop price is 7200 or less if you have buffs & perk cards. Do you want to buy it will save you a few thousand caps?? I also have about another 120 lb worth of Plans which I can get out for you to browse & buy if you like!

No thanks, I'm good. I've tried several PA setups and I still favour my L45 Excavator with a couple of non-flux mods. Flux is far too much grinding for what it's worth to me. I don't want a jetpack anyway. What I have is ample for PvE and I have no interest in PvP. There aren't any plans I want and don't have.

The best way to run Monster Mash is by yourself. If no-one else takes part, you should get almost 500 candy per event just from wearing the mask and moving from refill bucket to refill bucket. The ghouls shouldn't be a problem if you're using guns - they can't steal candy from you if you shoot them before they get to you. I have ~3000 candy now.

Lode Bearing is also good solo. Mole miners are trivial, so you should be able to keep all 3 autominers going all the time and then teleport out within the time allowed at the end of the event in order to get some bonus tokens. I have ~75 now.

As a nice little extra, one of the bugfixes in the last patch made it possible to align the neon letters correctly so my camp's sign is perfect now. They didn't fix the size of the metal walls though, so I still have to use brick walls in one corner to avoid thick black flickering lines on the floor above.

Get saving your Atoms as very soon they are releasing some more Neon Letters someone datamined last week :) They are already in the game just waiting to go live. The letters have little bulbs which light up within them they look pretty good ;)

First a question...sounds like a daft one to me, but I do want to know the answer. How do I build the deathclaw easter eggs from the atomic shop this week? I have te first 2, but I can't find them in the build menus.

I've just finally completed Lode Baring. I don't know how many times I had to find and grind it to get to 100 claim tokens, but I finally did and claimed my Jackpot Haul!

Er...a plan for an office desk (which I already knew), a stimpak and some scrap. Good grief, that's crap even by FO76 standards.

Told you most of these have terrible rewards just not worth the grind!

Not being able to attach mods to PA is being hot fixed early next week not that they have communicated it very well but at least its being fixed finally!

As for easter eggs the 2nd one is free to grab as well now when all 6 are yours on the 7th day you get a free mystery item  they are in the CAMP build floor section I think just under the Deathclaw Statue.

I bought that new lightbulb sign it looks ok shame is only the sign & not individual lightbulb letters. Finally there are a few decent item on sale in the next few days for a limited time only so grab them fast. I also bought the Silver Excavator PA & the Striped Floor ;)

You get far better rewards from looting the corpses of even a fraction of the mole miners you kill to do the event just once. That's a strange decision even for Bethesda. The reward for part of an incidental part of the event is better than the reward for completing the event a dozen or so times? How did that make sense to anyone?

As I said, I have the 1st two. I'll pop on at least as far as the menu every day to get the rest of them.

A scrap of cork? A box of dirty water? A new disease? No, wait, a new disease might be of some use to a player because there's a challenge to get infected with 22 diseases. So it won't be a disease because the policy is for rewards to be worthless :)

they are in the CAMP build floor section I think just under the Deathclaw Statue.

I looked and couldn't find them.

I wonder if it's a mod issue. I do have one mod that affects building (it displays the building budget as a number as well as the useless bar).

Ah no, I looked again and noticed that it's now possible to scroll left from the deathclaw statue and the eggs are there. I was expecting a new entry, not for the eggs to be hidden as a variant of a statue.

I bought that new lightbulb sign it looks ok shame is only the sign & not individual lightbulb letters.

I bought it too and put it on my camp to try to imply that my workshop and tavern is open to the public without having to use loads of building budget on making a sign from individual letters. I'll be scrapping it soon, I think. The missing bulbs irritate me.

Is it just me being daft, or is the new camera not actually in the game yet despite most of the daily achievements being about it?

The reward for part of an incidental part of the event is better than the reward for completing the event a dozen or so times? How did that make sense to anyone? The team behind this are not very experienced & it shows! they are based in 4 different Bethesda studio locations so good interteam communications is vital but obviously its not happening that way!!

New camera is just not there (due next week) hence all the camera based challenges for something not in the game! I doubt they will give out anymore Atoms to compensate either as they have so much new content in the Atomic Store players need to start using real money or complete the existing doable challenges.

Once again its another sign of left hand right hand does not what is going on behind the scenes. So many times they have demonstrated that The Burrows is yet another example so much hype so little content. The actual dungeon is very dark souls looking & atmospheric but my level 245 went through it solo in about 10 mins & the reward was just some dumb weapon which is not even worth much & does little DMG :eek:

Thought I was the only one. My level 72 chap with a surpressed handmade strolled through in not much longer than that by just hiding all the while.

But it's balanced for 2 level 50+ players teaming up? Really? Who do they have testing this stuff? Other than the players that is....

Their assessment of the difficulty of it is so ridiculously inaccurate that it shows a degree of ignorance about their own game that's remarkably even for a game which clearly isn't being tested much. My guess is that it's another aspect of the internal fragmentation and lack of communication that AWPC refers to above, with the people at Bethesda who write the "news" about new content having little or no connection to the game and writing about new content without having even seen it let alone played with it.

Yeah...balanced for 2+ L50+ players teaming up with the possibility of a very well equipped player daring to try it solo, with that being portrayed as a risky move with small chance of success.

I watched most of a video of a player who was well equipped soloing it. I didn't see them taking any damage at all. They weren't hiding. They were just strolling through, out in the open and well lit. They also weren't even an optimised build - they weren't a melee build, which is currently far more powerful than other builds. They were using a shotgun. They were exploring, not rushing through...and the video was 12 minutes long. So the quest could be done in a few minutes by the well equipped team of high level players that Bethesda's nonsense claimed it was balanced for.

Presumably they'll get some suckers who'll pay for the game and pay again and again for a useless ingame hat or something. It's all free money for Bethesda, so I guess the people at a decision-making level at Bethesda don't care that they're offering cack for real money. It's not like they have to compete with modders any more, modders who will produce far superior content and give it away.

I found it for sale from the Whitespring vendor in Artisan's Corner when I went there to sell junk. I didn't even bother buying it, despite it being cheap even with the extraordinary markup that FO76 vendors have and my charisma of 4. It's clearly worse than Black Diamond, the magic ski sword everyone gets as a quest reward quite early on in the game.

Due to the storage restrictions, we can't even keep unique items we get as quest rewards so they're not even relevant as momentoes and ornaments. They're just things to be sold to vendors for a few caps, no different to spare bits of scrap you package up to sell to vendors. The great reward for completing the long awaited and much hyped first new area DLC, the new content so difficult that it's balanced for a team of high level players, is no different to a couple of dozen units of waste oil that you have hanging around from scrapping stray bits of junk for other materials (e.g. scrapping oil cans for steel to make bullets).

Any player who can do the Burrows (which is almost all players) would be much better off doing the golf club and chalets and cottages at The Whitespring. More XP, more loot, better loot.

They clearly do not test much that's our job to pay as you test :) Bethesda did say its a Breakit edition around the beta time guess it still is! ;)

Sheepsquatch event is even worse just lost 74 Caps & a load of Junk I was gathering for a challenge  when the group of stupid players refused to read the onscreen instructions to power the conduits up so all their DMG was going nowhere fast on the Sheepsquatch shield :( The worse thing was I had to pay 54 Caps just to return to retrieve my Junk after getting killed by the Sheepsquatch then find someone has stolen it all & fast travelled away in the space of a few seconds :( Last time I ever do that event or almost any other apart from Nuke runs or solo events as it seems to happen a lot with sneaky players hanging back wait until you get killed then steal your junk before you respawn which is pretty poor sportsmanship.

Just wait until it arrives on Steam in about 6 months then watch the criticism & review trashing it will get if its not improved considerably by then!

You are probably right as the community managers seem slightly out of touch like they do not play it regular & just communicate what others tell them without checking with the dev leads to see if its really fixed! Very shoddy way to manage such a high profile product which is designed to last another 3-5 years until Starfield & Fallout 5 arrive!!

Yeah...balanced for 2+ L50+ players teaming up with the possibility of a very well equipped player daring to try it solo, with that being portrayed as a risky move with small chance of success. A bug I found was if you enter the North drain cover you cannot even start the quest as the Holotape is at the South end! So little testing or QA clearly went on here!!

It's not like they have to compete with modders any more, modders who will produce far superior content and give it away. A lot of these cosmetic items are aimed at younger players & the large female gaming audience (this has a massive female gaming following apparently) so as long as they look cute or colourful Bethesda are going to rake the serious money in for years especially when they now make many items limited for a few days only forcing players to use real money! in a cynical fashion by also upping the free Atoms challenges to stamina testing levels (when they even include challenges you can actually complete that is!!).

Most rewards are utter garbage not even worth the resource to complete many events unless you want rare Plans that is.

Lately the game is becoming very popular & that run you suggest only has about a 1 in 3 chance of giving you higher level enemies due to the stupid spawning system if a low level player is in the area all spawns are much lower & not even worth your while so you have to server hop to get a refresh on the enemy level but as always with Bethesda server hopping has also been nerfed quietly without anyone saying anything I noticed you have to wait way longer than 2 minutes now to get another server even quitting the game to the desktop brings you right back into the same empty loot area it takes some time before it gets refreshed again with whatever loot your looking for :(

Oh god yes... Sheepsquatch is busy, but very few players know what they are doing, they just run around and get mangled. That them makes it harder for people who do pay attention, and it's already a pretty hard fight to start with.

Just a friendly headsup on some Atomic Store items:

1: Excavator EXC-17 Silver Paintjob is only available to buy @ 800 Atoms until 1AM Sunday morning when the Atomic Store updates so get it before then otherwise it goes away back to the archives.
2: Playtime Power Armour unique paintjob for T45, T51b,T60 & X01 are going on sale @ 1AM Sunday morning @ 50% off for only 700 Atoms (all its worth IMO!). This paint scheme looks way better ingame than the screenshots due to the vibrant colours. I have seen several players using it recently its definitely one of the better paintjobs for sale.
3: Easter Egg 5 of 6 will also be available for free @ 1AM Sunday (this is the time the Atomic Store currently updates).
