**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

I'm very interested in this patch for a number of reasons:

1) Legendary scrip - as soon as I saw that was coming, I've been keeping EVERY crappy legendary I find. Looking forward to getting rid of them and seeing what the vendor has to offer when (s)he's addded. I've been frustrated at the RNG of decent drops.

2) Balance - the assasin and sentinel armour has been nerfed and is now only a 75% chance to be triggered. I hope this will be a big nerf to some of those invincible players I've been encountering...

3) Survival - interesting change to the players shown on the map. Now it's primarily based on XP gains, rather than kills. Plus you "steal" the other player's points when you kill them...

4) Workshop PvP - sensible changes mean that the owner needs to be in the workshop's active area to engage in PvP. I enjoy taking over workshops in Adventure mode and killing the owner. At least now it will be more fair towards them. (I didn't take advantage of the fact they were PvP active everywhere on the map and hunt them down though, which I think was the main complaint of the previous mechanics).

5) Fast Travel - it was always VERY annoying not being able to fast travel due to some random enemy being miles away and having to run and then try fast travel again.

Hmm, so like all vendors, it seems the legendary machine has a daily limit of 150 scrip.

Low level stuff sells for around 3 - 15.

High level stuff sells for ~40.

It's not affected by the Hard Bargain perk.

I've offloaded what I can for now. Will have to wait until tomorrow to offload more. At least that's cleared some stash space!

Bought my first items from another player's vending machine:

Anti-Armour Gatling gun - a nice upgrade from my Hunter's.

3* Explosive Dragon (with some other stats - I forget what) - looking forward to testing that.

Also sold my first item in my own vending machine - explosive vampire's pipe pistol.

:D

Ha ha I decided to setup a shop but cannot as I have exceeded the budget for CAMPS limit ;):( some prices from players as well are crazy high!

Please Let me know ingame (send a friend request to my username: pc-gamer) when you want to do one of the Pioneer scouts challenge where 1 of us dies in the water then the other player revives & then its their turn to revive you! No way to complete it without that challenge & there are whole lot more Pioneer scout challenges as well to get the Pioneer Backpack otherwise its 500 Atoms :(

Is it me or are fusion cores draining much quicker?? :(
Its not just you they nerfed them but have not said they did so its probably yet another failed dev build merge bug  but they patched another worse bug earlier so on death they do not continue to drain forever!

New Pioneer backpack challenges are ridiculous you have to fully Solo a Nuke Silo including SBQ battle at the end solo to earn the badge  or pay 500 Atoms to get a packpack in the Atomic Shop  if that's not pay to win nothing is ;)

FFS,I sold most of decent armour and stuck with one set of LVL45 Excavator and one set of X01. I did solo a nuke silo which wasn't an issue, but a SBQ?? The most I managed by myself was a level 80 Scorchbeast. I am not very high level though - early 60s,as I only started replaying this relatively recently.

I did a little bit of testing on item condition. I happened to have a legendary two shot plasma rifle (still crap even with 2 shot) that I'd used for the "kill 76 scorched with a plasma weapon" challenge. It was in very poor condition, less than 20%. Valued at 5 legendary scrip. I repaired it to ~150% and it was still valued at 5 legendary scrip.

With all of the bad reviews and the mountain of problems, why are so many people still playing this game?

TY

There is still a Fallout game buried in the crap. Not a very good one, but enough of a one for some people who really like Fallout games. It's not utterly terrible. It is rather bad, though, which is why the market value dropped 50% in a day or two and is currently under 20%. The market value of FO76 is about £10, which is what it's selling for on PC. It's worth £10. £50? Ridiculous. £unlimited for mediocre quality micro-mods in Bethesda's shop? Ludicrous. It's not worth paying 50p for Bethesda's greed. But £10 for the game? Sure, it's worth a try at that price.

It's obviously not meant to be possible to acquire the backpack for free. Soloing a scorchbeast queen should be impossible for anyone. So you're supposed to pay more real money to buy one. Your level doesn't really matter - you don't gain power by levelling past 50, it's solely perks and equipment. If you already have the perks you want, you won't get any more powerful no matter how far you level.

And yes, the fusion core drain from power armour has been greatly increased. No mention of it, so the reason is probably incompetence rather than deliberate. Although it's possible that Bethesda is trying to push people into not using power armour in order to push people into buying stuff from the shop. Like a backpack, for example, which Bethesda changed to work only if you're not wearing power armour. Also all of the clothing (a lot of which has to be bought from the shop) only applies to players not wearing power armour. With Bethesda, you can never be sure if it's incompetence or greed since they have an abundance of both.

Power user 3 is now a de facto requirement to have on at all times and even that's not enough because the draining rate has been more than doubled and fusion cores have been quite rare ingame since a previous patch removed them from most ingame fusion generators.

I hear you buddy this game is the punish the player sadistic deluxe edition ;) solo nuke silo is easily possible but the SBQ battle solo is quite hard in 27 mins or whatever it is now. Or you can pay to win with 500 Atoms  but Bethesda insist thats not pay to win :(:p

Does anyone know if the camp vending machines show on the map in Survival mode?

I’ve tried Google, but no clear results.

I also logged in to survival mode and my camp icon is the new vending icon, but couldn’t see any others.

Either they don’t show or nobody else was dumb enough to have a vending machine in their camp...

:D

The sad thing is the world is fantastic in its variety of areas and it creatures and some of the robotic NPCs like Rose,The Grafton Mayor and the Lemonade serving Mr Handy are quite funny. The environmental story telling is still very well done ,and the factions are interesting. The problem its on an engine with its technical faults,it is a very buggy game, the story is poorly thought out, interesting locations are often empty(like the Space Station),and there is real no point to the whole game since your actions don't actually save anyone, especially as the SB still exist, and its very grindy. The world is way too empty and whatever you do it feels like you are not contributing to helping the region as its a lost cause.

The grind is very real - its not as relaxing a game to play when compared to the previous ones.

I’ve been playing this for over a week now. Like to consider myself a big fallout fan but didn’t take to the plunge to 76 when I felt time was right!

Anyway quick note, I find it makes me feel sickly when playing due in part from constantly following the markers. Anyone else get this . It’s almost hard work to play as gives me headache etc . Not had that with F4 . Maybe I’m imagining things lol

So yes it’s a grind as cat the 5th said

Gotta laugh...a couple of days ago I sold all my stable flux apart from violet because I'd never used any of it. Today Biv's booze test was to make tick blood tequila...which requires crimson flux. Then I did some of the new pioneer scouts quests...until I realised that they are deliberately completely impossible to do solo. Not even the first set to gain the first rank.

On the plus side, I've seen a variety of nicely made camps. But there's a bug, of course. If you fast travel to a player's camp to browse their vending machine(s), you end up inside their camp while it's constructed around you. On one occasion I ended up inside an area that was clearly meant to be inaccessible because it was an interior room with a locked door and on another occasion I ended up unable to move as I was partially inside a foundation that had been built around me after I teleported in.

Ha ha I decided to setup a shop but cannot as I have exceeded the budget for CAMPS limit ;):( some prices from players as well are crazy high!

I found one asking 25000 for a perk bubblegum tonight. Maybe they were in the process of an arranged trade for >25000 caps for something. But what's the point? You're not allowed to have more than 25000 caps.

I am intending to set up a shop to sell my multitude of spare plans, but at the moment some of my remaining budget is spent on an adhesive farm and the rest on repeatedly building and scrapping 5 water pumps. The former for the repairing and modding challenges and the latter for the "build 760 functional camp items" challenge. I've done the 760 structures and 760 decorative items challenges. That unlocks 7600 ones. No. Not going to happen. I also finally destroyed my 1100th robot using a rifle, completing that challenge. Which unlocks "destroy 1100 robots with an assault rifle". Also not going to happen.

Which brings me on to another question - does completing the "discover 5 locations in <insert zone>" challenges unlock more challenges? Those ones are bugged for me, not recognising the discovery of some of the required locations. If completing them unlocks more challenges, I might bother reporting the bug.

What's the difference between the markers in FO76 and the markers in FO4? The only thing I can suggest that might help with the markers is a mod to change the HUD. There are some on the nexus. I use the power armour clean hud mod. Other than that, fiddling with graphical settings in the game.
