**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

I lol at people buying collectors trash, just to have it remind them everyday that it fills a void in their empty life with consumerist jingoism, living vicariously through the molded remains of dead plant and animal life billions of years ago.

That projection though, all you bang on about is consumerism and capitalism lmao.

M8, i buy more crap than most people (i mean if we're including all the folks living on a few dollars a day), i love capitalism, but some people live such pitiful lives (sorry not sorry). If you aren't selling these collectors items on at some point then they serve no valid function other than to increase some E-peen that almost no one cares about.

Then again i also enjoy minimalist and abstract styles when it comes to my surroundings, so i may be biased against having a bunch of gaudy **** on shelves as some kind of level up to my personal character.

/may be being extremely mean and harsh to folks, but i just really hate it, it tilts me.

Either way, clearly it's easy to abuse people that are into this, exhibit A being the trash bag in a $200 "game".

Could be, they do seem to be just hoping it blows over and unfortunately for all the ridicule swarming now it'll blow over in a week, gamers as a whole seem largely incapable on standing firm against things like this. ("oh it's only a bag", "If you were dumb enough to drop 200 bones on a collectors edition you were a mug so who cares?" etc)

Never bought the game, didn't like what I was looking at but is it correct that their paltry sum on apology currency doesn't even buy the virtual canvas bag?

It won't. 500 points is nothing - a virtual door for your virtual shack. Half a virtual suit. It's an insult that surely must be deliberate. I can accept the people running Bethesda being incompetent, but not that incompetent. If they were that incompetent they'd need carers 24/7.

Another poster here used the word "contempt" describing Bethesda's view of their customers.

A pretty apt word to use, because between the POS that is FO76, Canvasgate and now this utterly spurious so called compensation of worthless in game currency, that's exactly how they're treating the people who put them where they are now.

do you wonder with the way some people defend away any issues with the game, makes them feel they can just brush it away and no one will mind.

There is an absolute gold video on youtube at the moment called "Bethesda representative talks about the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition"

I would post a link but it has swearing in it. Its guaranteed to make you cry with laughter!!

That's funny and sad at the same time because it's so accurate that it might as well be secretly recorded footage direct from Bethesda's HQ.

I have a feeling I know who is in this "bethesda rep" video, it's that laughing Spanish guy right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Risitas

That's him. That video is a goldmine for parodies.

On another note...is there a way in FO76 to tag plans and recipes you don't already know? Part of the way I play Fallout games is "find all the things" and it would be extremely bad game design (and therefore not at all unexpected) if Bethesda expected players to remember which of the hundreds of plans and recipes they've already read. They're very expensive to buy, so it's completely impossible to buy every one you come accross in a trader's stock just to get any possible new ones.

Yeah, I'm still playing it. There's a mediocre game buried in the sewage of bad ideas badly implemented and infested with more bugs than a rotting brahmin carcass. It's almost effectively SP because it's rare to find more than a handful of other players. I'd say the average is about 4 rather than 24. Which is a good thing, of course.

Surely they are going to end up getting fined for false advertising at some point soon. If not that, refusing to give refunds.

They pulled a blatant bait and switch scam with the bag.

I’m finding the game playable at the moment but had a frustrating event today. Logged off and on and my camp just dissapeared. I could get it back as a blueprint but could not align it properly so had to scrap the whole lot and relocate and rebuild.

I’m thinking that camps are not meant to be perminant and so therefore rebuilt with just a basic structure and then saved the blueprint making sure that none of the items clash with the scenery so it realigns properly if needed.

I emailed Game support with a complaint and they replied just to quickly bat me away to Bethesda support. As UK sole distributer Game should be taking it up with Bethesda.

I'd have thought your contract of sale is with GAME, keep on at them and don't let them fob you off. Although I do notice that GAME have now changed the description on the CE page to read 'Nylon bag' rather than Canvass, but they still have the original photo.

I emailed game too specifically stating that I had not ordered it, but was reporting the advertising and their response was 'whats your order number?'

the coverage this fiasco is getting though I'm not surprised theyve twigged already
