***Official Final Fantasy XIV Thead***

Go to C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta

There should be 2 folders, 'bca2a8ae' and 'd96437e6'. Basically you just need to look at what torrent files are contained in the 'metainfo' subfolders for both of those, and put the completed .patch files in the corresponding 'patch' folders for each of them.

bca2a8ae\patch should contain: D2010.08.27.2001.patch & H2010.08.04.2000.patch. Everything else goes in the patch folder of 'd96437e6'.
 
hey guys, just recently got home and started playing but ran into some issues, currently at 30fps on a 4870x2, 1680x1050, turned down all the effects etc, but not even touching 60% on my gpu ? any 1 else had simlar issues ?
any help would be appriciated

OK call me a noob but I need some help :p

I have a SE login, I have a code, I put the code into my account but when I try and get onto the beta site to download the client it outs up a button saying "next" and then go's back to the original screen?

Anything else I can do?

Now i'm going to ask a noob question. How do i revive after i die? happened earlier and i can't figure out how to resurrect, no help appeared on my first death with is a bit annoying.

open the menu and theres an ooption called return click it another window will pop up asking if you want to return click yes

Not sure what folder to put them in code is 11024 or something like that

Edit: Ran the torrent from the metainfo file those with todays date, theres a .patch file

you get this fixed? if not you need to put the .patch file that you downloaded with utorrent into the folder labeled patch. its in the same dir as the metadata one
 
Yep can login now but as soon getting another error after clicking start 13001 cant connect to the lobby or something like that, if it aint 1 thing its another :(
 
Thanks for the help people, when i finally get back in i maybe able to continue instead of looking at my corpse hoping that she was just resting. :)
My own fault for trying a two star Guildleve on my own for a laugh!

I'm now through to the start menu but i now get an error "13001 Lobby server connection has encountered an error." gradually getting there.
 
Still waiting for them to get the beta key applications back up, they don't seem to be giving much information about when that is going to happen though.
 
What GFX card would people recommend to play FFXIV ?


1920 x 1200 27" Monitor, i7-920, 6 Gig Triple Channel 1,600 MGhz Corsair RAM, Win 7 64 Bit, 800W PSU

Using a 4870 atm and while it isn't struggling it isn't smooth.



Would I see much difference between a 470 and a 480 specifically in FFXIV ? Was going to buy a 480, but I was trying to hold off for a 485. But I needz it for FFXIV ><

Lobby server seems to be up but I'm still getting the 13001 error.
