I will try a narrow one later. Got El Sharawry or whatever his name is from AC plus a pretty good ML anda decent DL. Cant remember their names though. Only called them rude words the way things have been going.

Seeing that you bought a ML, I suggest maybe a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the wingers playing AML and AMR. The only 'wide' formation that worked.

The 2 MCs should be something like Ball Winning Midfielder and Deep lying playmaker, or Box to Box midfielder and DLP, or something similar.

Try and have one that breaks up play, and one that builds up attacking moves (first one must have high defensive abilities, and other one must have high creative abilities.)

You can style the attack as you want. if you have a tall, strong forward, play the AMR and AML as wingers with a support role, who cross, but if he is not that good, play them as inside forwards with an attacking role. The AMC can be either an inside forward (if you struggle with goals) or a playmaker (if your midfield lacks a bit of creativity.

I ended up buying Varane AND Sven Bender in the transfer window.

Strangely, both players were offered to me. Why would Real Madrid and Dortmund do that?

Right, I've just started playing this after a 2 month hiatus - got nothing better to do.

What's everyone's opinion on playing two players with the same roles? For example, I've got two quite decent strikers and both their preferred roles are Advanced Forward. Is my play going to be more restricted by playing both as AF?

A player that I had on loan, and was on my shortlist, has got a new contract at is parent club so I got the following message:

Barnsley striker Danny Rose has signed a new contract...... following an unsuccessful loan spell at Aldershot.

Unsuccessful!!! He scored 25 goals and got named player of the season - its the small details of this game that annoy me the most!

Fell out of love with this the other day and can't bring myself to load it up again at the moment! My best young striker wanted a tiny amount more than it allowed per individual player for key player. I would accept that if I was near my wage limit but overall I had 15k left, I could almost sign him twice if he was a free agent. Maxed the wage budget, asked board for more, tried a million combinations of things on the offer etc but still couldn't lift it enough to give him a new contract so he wanted to leave, bloody stupid.

Aww :(

I've got the same feeling, have to play a league cup game followed by some filler games before serious stuff and I can't be bothered.

Instead I am planning where I want to go after Bishops Stortford, it's either mls for a laugh or I'm going to Switzerland and defying the tv by getting a Swiss team to an European final! In good time though

Im playing as spurs and have one the CL 4 times in a row prem once and the FA cup twice...but still lose against Southampton every time i play them.

im playing a wingback (due to bale) formation with 2 up front.

injuries in this game are laughable. I have a really tough set of fixtures so start a rubbish ST, he didn't score, subbed Jovetic on in the 60th minute. Injured in the 70th minute. Okay, subbed RvP on, injured in the 75th minute.

I now have RvP, Falcao, Rooney, Rodriguez and Jovetic out. Sweet. Only got Barca - Man City - Barca to play in succession...

First time I've played since the patch came out a couple of months ago - has anyone noticed a complete dearth in decent regens? Genuinely can't find any good players coming out of UK, Spain, France, Germany, etc.

Had a feeling they had fine turned it a bit after getting some monsters in every year for the first 7 seasons before the patch and then not getting as many post patch...

I'm in trouble. Things were going so well.

I really don't know how things can suddenly go wrong. Despite me buying Varane, Sven Bender and Hamsik, I'm on the verge of getting sacked. I've suddenly started conceding goals despite my defence being previously rock solid.

It all started with a 2-1 defeat against bottom of the table Reading. Currently I'm about 7th in the league.

Lewandowski is joining at the end of the season when his contract runs out as well. I doubt I'll be there to manage him. :(

What I'd do is take a striker that hasn't been banging them in and have a motivational private chat to tell them to SORT IT OUT OR ELSE.

Then have a team meeting telling them YOUR RUBBISH WE SHOULD WALK THIS LEAGUE.

Usually seems to fix it.

Things are slowly improving but I still think I'll be fired if I don't finish at least top 4.

Just beat Arsenal 5-4 away from home! :p Rooney and RVP were both out injured but Hernandez ended up scoring 4. He couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo previously. Madness.

Play Hernandez as a poacher on the right saide of a 2 man strike force.

Thats how he performed best for me :p

Well, I ended up getting sacked after finishing only 6th.

Gus Hiddink took over Man Utd but was also sacked just before Christmas. I applied for the vacancy and they gave me my job back. It wasn't the same owners though as there had been a takeover.

Hiddink also bought Dejan Lovren, Juan Sanchez Mino and Viktor Fischer whilst he was there. Are they any good?

edit//
I've also just noticed that Hiddink has sold Hernandez to Real Madrid for 16.75m. He was just starting to score for me as well.

edit2//
He also sold Welbeck to Spurs for 21m. :o

He sold Cleverley to Arsenal as well. Not happy.

Lovren is good. Mino is average at best. And Fischer I have no idea.

It seems like you do have quite a lot of money though
