haha I can picture that. That's the best part of the game in my opinion. Developing your youth players. Nothing beats it. I like to buy in 15/16 year olds with 4-5 star potential and send them out on loans for a few seasons. Not all of them work out especially if they get injured along the way, but one of two out of a handful *might* just make it into the first team. How old are your youth players before you think they're ready? I bought a english 19 y/o striker for half a million who had 5 star future potential and he is working out quite nicely but I am playing him in my first team regularly. (I got Bury into the Premiership) so I have some money finally, even though I have a tiny stadium.
I'll quite happily play outfield players from 17 onwards against weaker sides and with sub apps.
It wouldn't be the first time I've gone into a champions league final with 4 under 20s in the side.
Jorge Pinel (signed on a free from Real Madrid at 18) has been a first team regular since I signed him 4 years ago.
Leonal Navarro, Moreno Van De Berg and Jeremy Davison are my other first team strikers and they are all under 21.
Christous Guilliousus has been my first choice left winger since he was 17.
If they are good enough they are old enough.
