What's a good team to manage in one of the higher leagues? (That's not too difficult)

Bored of having so little money in the Bet square leagues...

New game? Wolves (though that's cheating really)or maybe Coventry in L1 (theres potential for a decent team despite the money problems)

Later in game, where are Southampton? Always fun to be saints!

My team won't win, even though we are the best team in the league. We can't beat a crap Huracan side, who are 3rd from bottom.

Decided to take matters into my own hands and sell everyone off.

Literally, everyone.

I'll leave in January, as soon as they all go. Its October.

EDIT: Total transfers total: 103M. They will still have some 5 first team players left, as some don't want to leave as they joined in summer, and some I can't find a team for.

They can **** it tbh.

EDIT 2: 3-0 at half time against a side who are above me in the league. Maybe I can snatch the openeing stage, now that they are leaving, LOL!

That's whats happened to my Bishops Stortford team!

Neither of my main strikers can be bothered to score and I have to play some 18 year olds just because the 2 main guys can't be bothered to score. So frustrating!

If you're at the start with Forest you should be able to get a quality game going really, decent champ squad there and in real life miss managed (someone paid MONEY for Dan Harding at LB!!!)

That's fab, HG too. How do you find these players? I've been experimenting. Trying all sorts of searches. Trawling through the top clubs' juniors etc. Haven't been able to find anything really much better than my youth squad.

He was a little bit of a cheat, was playing the saints save (a later on extension of my bishops stortford save) and he was good for borough against me home and away so I had a look 6 months before in the real version of the save and got over excited. But as a bit of defence I spend ages bundling through one of about 20 English teams that have cat 1 academies in real life every 6 months or so to see how the next set of 16-19 year olds are coming along.

The top tip places to look in are villa, middlesborough, saints and west ham this year (Brighton get the odd few too but not this year), these academies churn out decent players every year or two (mainly because they have decent catchment areas) and I like to be on their tails for 2-6 years before I sign them sometimes! My LW is a player I was following from when he was generated in the BSP and I signed him in the prem...

After a while you learn to spot things that are either really important in a player or things that are odd, like finding a 6"9' brazilian forward or finding an english player with 20 flair! There are other good combinations, japanese players with high strength or spanish players with high work rates or scottish players with high technical ability... Basically the game always puts out some star players that don't quite fit the normal model but you'll get into seeing them eventually.

Sell them! I'm going to get some 113M. And I even made profit on a lot of players.

Bought one player on a free last season. Selling him for 7.5M. Acosta (beat keeper, won best keeper in WC). Bought 5.75, sold 10M. Rojas (beast CM), bought 10M, selling 17.5M.

Almost did but fixed it giving them different roles to make them less predictable/easy to defend against.

Suddenly my tactics are working :D

Did the Treble (of sorts) today!

Won the Charity Shield, Premier League and Champions League :D

Lost both the FA and League cup finals to spurs though

Other than a few more contracts to sort out and a new keeper to buy I have the perfect Bishops Stortford team (though half my players can't get national call ups because we aren't the biggest team in England sadly).

Won the league with about 4 games to go but in the last 2 the fixture congestion caught up with the squad (as well as injuries) so we suffered a bit preparing for the Champions League final. Beat Juventus 4-0 in that with a hattrick from that beast 6 foot 8 Brazilian from a few pages (and now seasons) back :D

Think I need a rest with FM before I get a perfect season done (and the club world cup) before I leave, take a role in the mls or Scotland and see what I can do.

Any tips on formations for this, how did you change your formation for away games etc??

I play 2 formations now, a 4-1-2-2-1 on control with 2 attacking wingers a lone striker 2 play makers (one dlp and one ap) and a dm who defends. Works well most the time but if the wing play goes wrong I abandon all width and do a 4-1-2-1-2 which is just lots of midfielders and 2 strikers.

Never change for always and never just accept draws, always be angry if you only draw against a rubbish team ;)

Picked it back up a little bit after the transfer window didn't seem too bad. Won the super cup and the community shield :)

Just lost my star left winger to training injury that will keep him out for 8 months  the phrase har har football manager thanks for making me play an 18 year old for half a season who probably isn't ready....

Urgh! This game is starting to annoy me, I have no idea why all of my strikers have stopped scoring at once

To make it worse 6 of my key players are broke! 6!!!! I blame the World Cup but this is a joke...

Results aren't pre loaded but the draws pick based on seed/rank before hand, ie it has an idea of who's going to get who at he start of the day of the draw but it can still change a bit (spent a little time wondering about this before). Anyway the likely hood of getting the same team is increased with less teams in the draw (naturally) so for the champions league it's quite hard not to get the same team over and over because of the rankings used... (Justifies it in my mind of landing silly teams some times)

But of excitement, had a complete revamp of my enthusiasm for FM at Bishops Stortford and have finished my 11th season there! Won the league, FA cup, club world cup and super cup! :D

So pleased I have the 3 leagues in a row done, so let down I only got to the semi's of the champions league and distraught I have seen one career ending injury for my left winger who was amazing till he missed 8 months to some sort of ligament damage and now he has no pace :(

On the plus I have finally seen a novelty moment where a player leaves their agent after breaking off talks with me :D

Got a few more seasons with them, want an unbeaten league season and probably will see out my contract till a good MLS team opens up or I go for the hero of scotland achievement with a proper 3rd division team...

Is there any way of stopping Nani always shooting from long range? I've altered the setting saying 'Long shots - rarely' but it's not making nay difference.

I may well sell him seeing as the transfer window has just re-opened.

A combination of shouts, work the ball into the box, play through the defence and exploit the flanks seems to sort of stop them doing that nonsense.

Hate the amount of time spent watching players smacking it wide because "they can cut inside"

HAHA! You'll be back :p

Please do America from the MLS as well, just have to pile on the challenge with the budget cap... (plus in my save Rhodes has ended up there on a free so some amazing designated player should turn up there!)

Ah mls just has strick contracts between status in the team, pretty easy if you sit down and write it out as you can only really have a set number of players plus designated players.

I say give it a bash and learn by trying...

The bigger club things happen every so often for me, it's very funny as they usually run off for a big fee and wage to then rot in the reserves and ask to crawl back, I never cave :D
