I've used the reluctant team talk once in a league cup match against a lower division team. We was winning but not as much as I should have.
Why would anyone pay £4 for an editor. If your playing rubbish start again.
 
Do not buy SI editor, it's an absolute rip off. If you're going to buy an editor get FMRTE, it's the same price and has about 400 more functions.
 
Yeah, the editor is rubbish. I bought it out of curiosity - wanted to see the PA of one of my strikers/regens - but I had no idea that you can't delete the editor... so it sits there on my toolbar. Fortunately I don't use it as it would completely cheapen my FM experience, but it's still sodding annoying.

Picked up a couple of excellent regens during the close season - going into 2016/2017, so this is when it gets interesting for me. I really don;t find the first couple of (regen-free) seasons that interesting. Will post up later on.
 
haha I bought the sodding thing.. :D Oh well.. I wont use it *that* much however, but it does give me some interesting data. Turns out several of my players are going to turn into something very special so I chose them well! What's more the best AMC I have was a flipping free transfer! He has a potential ability of 190! I gather that is good. oddly, 3 of my best players were frees. My defender was from PSG, and according to my chief defense coach he will become world class. The other free was another AMC - I can't believe these clubs let these players go! Madness

Theres usually a FM scout that does that as well to check how good players are if you want to. Thats free :D

Remember that the coaches recommendations aren't base don their coaching attributes but on the PA judging attribute! I kept on forgetting that, and my AssMan would be raving about a couple of average players I bought in... so kept on playing them. Turns out the assistant had under 10 for both CA/PA judging!

On your comment about about 5* players. I did a quick test, found a 16 year old Mexican kid (sounds dodgy...). Regen with Prem attributes already and he'd barely played a game. Looks incredible, absolutely incredible, but only had 4.5* rating from scouts with 20/20 CA/PA. So I checked his PA on the editor and it came in at 191, meaning that he will be world class and could very well be a 5 * player anyway. So I think FM have slightly downgraded the amount of players whom are rated at 5*.

I had a £14m offer accepted for him but he wouldn't even discuss terms. Also what was annoying is Steau Bucharest. They've got two good AMs - Iancu and Stanciu I think. But they'll only let you have one, not both. I had offers accepted for both, but one of them turned down the contract during negotiations. Meanwhile the other accepted my contract offer and joined. I therefore went back to offer for the other one but Steau turned me down. I upped the bid. Still no. So I tested the water with a £60m bid (obviously I had nowhere near that money) but still got turned away.

Interesting. Fortunately my assistant manager has 20/20 ability but I still find it a bit flakey. On the main screen this defender is recorded as having 3.5 stars, but my defense coaches AND my ass. manager see him with world class potential, so it's a bit weird why this is happening.

Absolutely agree with you! I believe SI have changed the values somewhat but to what gain? It doesn't make sense to me. This is what I was saying above. It all seems a bit random now. More guess work involved now than before and that 20/20 ability from the scouts hardly makes sense if they are still wrong. Maybe it's a bug?
 
just played a game with 4 mins injury time against man bloody united and on 95.21 they score! come on fergie has retired! what a joke :(
 
Such a random game.

One match I'm (Spurs) drawing 2-2 against Columbus Crew and the very next I'm beating Real Madrid 3-1 (in friendlies).

I've no confidence in this game. I don't feel as if any changes I make are affecting the game at all. I don't like that you can't properly fine tune how deep your defence defends and things like that.

Also, the fact that Chelsea and Man Utd were battling to sign this goalkeeper in the 2013/14 season puzzles me.

Just lost 6-0 to Chelsea!... My season is falling apart. Though I will be nowhere near relegation.

There is far to much emphasis on press conferences and stuff... I think they influence games far too much. Plus, a lot of the reactions make no sense. I just congratulated Zouma on another young player award, and he says something like' I could play better '... And his profile says he has reacted badly to recent comments!
 
I do tend to agree. I have spent some time with it now and I am finding in inconsistent. But one point of interest, the tactics. I've never really rated them from the outset - they have never really offered me much success. I still very much believe it is down to the quality of the player and his PPM rather than your tactics. To put it another way, take a team over mid way through the season - have a look at the tactics. They are all standard. Nothing specific at all, apart from the formation. To me, the AI doesn't use tactics at all.
 
I certainly think nk that there are some games that the game decides that you simply can not win beforehand... Usually based on manager comments and such. And that is particularly annoying, as a lot of reactions by journalists/other managers are ridiculous!

I was asked about an upcoming game, against Newcastle, and the journalist asked me about the threat of Ben Arfa, and I replied something like 'he is not the only danger', and the journalist says 'sounds like you are in awe of their team'... Eh? :confused:.. Even ignoring how ridiculous that is to start with, They were bottom of the league, and I was 8th! I think the game had counted that against me from the start tbh, and I was never gonna win the game.
 
Andros Townsend 'reacted badly' when I said I thought Spurs could qualify for the Champions League this season. And yet he's now just put pen to paper on a new 5 year contract. :confused:
 
It's bloody stupid AI like this that ruins the game. Nowhere in my tactics did I tell my No.2 to do what he does.


Puzzling to why that player decided not to cover the out of position CD. Instead he just ignored the ball and slotted back into his right back position.

If I hadn't has such a great start to the season, I would be in real trouble! Earlier I lost 5-1 to Chelsea, 4-0 to Arsenal, 3-2 to Utd, and 4-0 to Southampton in a row. Then after a few wins/draws against lower teams, I have drawn at the bottom club and lost to Cardiff and QPR!...really struggling!
