******* Official Football Manager 14 Thread *******

I am finding it hard to play this years game, something about it just doesn't feel right. I play a game until January then I get bored and restart with another team.
 
This is how I finished my 1st season

Lost the last game to City 2-0. if I had won, I would have finished 4th. Not bad, considering I was predicted 9th. Got 2nd place Manager of the year also.

Funny fact, United completed the quintaple! Comunity Shield, EPL, Capital One Cup, FA Cup, Champions League. Fergie who?
 
I finished 9th in my first season in the Premiership, won the Over-achievement award, and was predicted 20th before the season.

In my third season, and second in the Premiership now. I am 6 games in, and am currently 7th, I keep losing games by large margins away(3-0 to Everton, and 5-1 to Soton!), but do well at home...one thing though, I was drawing 0-0 with Man city in my last game, and I told them that I was happy with the performance, and they were all confused and demotivated:confused:

Also, I spent 6m on Bendtner...6 games, 6 goals:cool:

Got a ridiculous amount of wages tied up in average players as well....Last season I really needed to pad out my team with McFadden, Jenas, Ephraim and Sevilla, and now I can't get rid of them!...thats about 50k right there

My game seems to have suddenly turned...all of a sudden I am drawing with top teams, and the journalists are saying that they will be pleased to draw with me!

Also, I just had my two main strikers, Ulloa and Bendtner injured against Chelsea, with exactly the same injury, out for exactly the same amount of time, 7-8 weeks:rolleyes:

1-0 down against Arsenal, my centreback got sent off in 60th minute....won 1-2:D

I've started a new game with Spurs and it's like deja vu.

Valencia has been signed by Real Madrid, Zaha has gone to Newcastle on loan and Manchester United have signed the exact 2 players as they did in my previous game save. It's almost as if it's scripted.

I've just signed a young kid for Spurs called Richairo Zivkovic (£600k). He's a 6foot1inch 16 year old who is rated 5 stars for potential ability. :)

It's the best way! Just did the same with Sunderland, got them to Prem again with the oldies then got some younger players in. Probably 7 or 8 of my starting 11 are new
 
How long does it take a team to learn a 'new' tactic?

I'm playing 4-1-2-2-1 with Spurs now and the rating on the tactic bar is 22 out of 100. I've played about 5 pre season friendlies.

I'm slowly losing the will to live with this game.

It depends on your training facilities and how competent your coaches are - but i find it takes a season to become completely fluid in a new tactic.
 
I have the possibility of getting Illaramendi, Navas and marin on loan, but they want a high monthly fee. Illaramendi will cost 325k/w. Wages ain't a problem though.

I will pass, due to the price :(

Trying to sign players like Murru, who was transfer listed for less than 4M. He chose Chievo Verona, because they offered a higher wage. Well, I gave you what you asked for -.-'
 
I decided I will play a bit more defensive next season, even though my two MCs will have offensive attributes.

Still need to sell Angel Rengel, Canas, and send 3 youngsters on loan.

I can get Casemeiro for 1.6M, but he is not convinving me. Doesn't look like a step up from Canas. I need to do some PROPER searching. Held off from Marin, Illaramendi and Navas for now. If I don't find replacements, they will be my signings.
 
Going to give up playing this game for now until the patch is released. Everything just seems to be so inconsistent, starting to enjoy it less and less the more hours I put into the game.
Scores, injuries, ratings, playing stats, formations, crazy scorelines etc
I hope I don't have to wait the same amount of time I waited for the 2013 patch.

I played around 6 pre-season games - 2 Premier League and a Europe League game yet the familiarity bar was saying 22 out of 100. I even tried specific training on team tactics.

It's not as if 41221 is that hard a formation to get to grips with. Every player was playing in a position that they were either natural or accomplished.

Resigned in the end. I'll come back to game sometime. I just hope BF4 is fixed later on so I can go back to that. :/
 
Yeah, it's another 'feature' (one of the hidden ones they didn't tell us about)!

If you have custom graphics, just drag'n'drop the 'graphics' folder (in My Docs) to your desktop. Do the changes, and drag back. There will be detailed instructions somewhere, but this was just to say it happens and you will need to do the workaround.

Or just rename the graphics folder to something else then change it back after using the in-game steam workshop :)
