Because Ronaldo is on such high wages, I'm not even able to offer him a new deal! I have £440k extra wages, and £176m transfer budget but unable to offer more than £500k/week as he is on £575k he won't even negotiate!

hehe i wouldn't worry too much there aren't many teams out there that can afford those ridiculous wages. Try to negotiate just before his contract expires and you will probably find he lowers his demands to stay at the club. Whatever you do do not put him on the transfer list.

Yeah this works, I have let contracts of high earners run down to the last month and I always get them resigned for a better deal.

I always worry about others offering them a contract though.
 
Chuffed with these 2 regens! With some work on jumping the DC looks like he's gonna be a beast. I have 20ja 20jp scout so should be fairly accurate potential. My u18 team is already tearing up their league!

I have the in-game editor. I bought it when the game came out as I was impatient with a couple of regens and wanted to have a look at their CA/PA. I hadn't realised that the bloody tool wasntt deletable, so I have it on my tool bar and it's bloody annoying. I did want to quickly have a look at Christiano Ronaldo's PA, but accidentally pressed the wrong button and immediately transferred him to my Dagenham & Redbridge team.

Idiot.

I transferred him back straight away, but didn't think to look at my finances. Transfer budget get's announced for the new season and it's set at £0, which is odd as I'm a decently run, liquid club. I'm £3.7m in debt! Turns out I paid £4.1m in agents fees when I accidentally transferred him across!

Haven't played it for a few weeks due to being busy with work.

What's still wrong with the ME?

Fullbacks not marking or tackling, DC not marking, to many shots, goalkeepers still keep kicking ball up pitch when set to short and release to defender, having about 3ccc a game but not scoring any. conceding from crosses or corners every game, fullbacks getting low ratings. One thing that is different though is that my team are not misplacing as many easy passes.
 
Just sealed my hatred for this years awful release. Score a freekick in last min to win the champions league but it said the keeper gathered the loose ball when I just watched the ball hit the back of the net and the keeper walk into the back and pick it up and then... here is the kicker hoofed it up the pitch where there striker is there all alone apart from my keeper and scores a lob so I lost the final. So s goal mysteriously not gone in though it see it sitting there and then not an offside striker alone in my half in the pitch... eurgh rant over, game uninstalled and back to fm13.
 
sitting in mid-table in first season in german first division. Was expected to lose in the first round of the cup but have jsut beat Dortmund 3-2 away to get into the semi final. Next up, Shalcke :( Bayern are already out :)
 
There seems to be almost equal numbers of people who like and dislike this year's release, just like most years. For me, it is far better then FM13 which I just didn't enjoy. I know the ME isn't perfect at all, but I enjoy it and haven't experienced any annoying bugs yet, touch wood.
(Started the game unemployed, and taken on by Fleetwood, league 2. Currently 2nd in the league and enjoying trying to build a team with no money).
 
With the last update sorting things out a little in the ME as far as I can see.
I started my game again with Stockport.

4-3-3 building around Ethan Mannion and Rhys Turner (Who have destroyed the league with goals between them) I have Jamar Dobson, but he's not getting the goals in yet, although in FM13 it took him a season or two to start getting them in.
 
Any skins in FM 2014 that give you the classic 'insta-result' button in the normal career version?

And dont say play classic if I want that - I play full version only, but I hate having to chore my way through the commentary nowadays and just want a result.
 
Steklo had it in FM13 for anyone who dosent know what im on about - I think Steklo FM14 should have it when that drops hopefully
 
The youth stuff was also better in FM 13 I think, as it told you about the youth intake, and what they think will be good players etc (I managed 3 leading premiership players at the end of my chester save)

Whereas in this I just can't see it very well.
 
How's this game now? I've heard it was quite buggy at release, but wondering what it's like now? I'm asking as I'm thinking of picking it up if I see it cheap any time soon.
