******* Official Football Manager 14 Thread *******

That Gethin Dodd has incredible stats, but he doesn't seem to have a good record with goals/games

That is something people don't take into account in these games they always look at the numbers and think the player should be good because he has 18+.

I have had people who only have 12-14 and they are monsters in the game.

Thinking about starting a new save, too much money at Man Utd now getting bored!

I remember seeing a guide in this thread for starting a new game database but I can't find it, anyone remember?

Using a transfer update, so I'm in the Championship.

Easily my best result:

Holy cow!! Insane at such a young age too. That Italian striker looks mental.
Only slight problem with regens with those qualities is that they are quick to reach their potential whilst having poor leadership and little experience. But that's not to say they wont turn out excellent for a few years at least. Does anyone know what happens to a young player when they reach their potential?

Italian lol.. Mexican??

Oh jesus look at these two regens.. :O

They're awesome!

As I understand it, their attributes develop differently. Physical will be the most to develop over their younger years, technical will be quite even, whereas once they've hit their maximum potential their mental attributes will continue to improve.

I found where my screenshots were going. My Burton Albion team:

And this is the guy I'm going to try to pick up after the next season:
Once that's done I might have a go at a League Two club I have a soft spot for - maybe Dagenham & Redbridge or Rochdale.

So the scout I had assigned to countries where we had low knowledge, and even then because of feeder clubs, has decided to retire at the end of the season. I can't get another scout until he goes. I'll have to get the new scout to re-scout those countries for us. :p

Or use existing scouts to scout the areas. Have a look through the list of countries you can scout through. I had one guy who was a far east specialist scout south Korea, north Korea and japan. Then worked my way through some of the others. He had high adaptability and has kept a lot of his knowledge, so I only need one scout for a whole region.

Fortunately he's only done 2 or 3 countries, fairly small ones at that. And we would still have some knowledge thanks to our feeder club.

There's also a coach retiring at the end of the season so I'll have to do a re-jig of my coaching and scouting teams.

Your wage bill must be horrendous. Breaks my heart to pay anyone over 100k a week in any situation. I prefer to ship them on for massive profit, find and develop even better replacements and watch the original flounder at wherever they end up.

Haven't really managed to get into this year's game very much, I've not played more than a season in one go yet I've still racked a few hundred hours up. Managing the team I support in real life is too easy, managing a team from a low division and bringing them up is too tedious for me. I recently started a game as Lyon and managed to win the league, domestic cup and CL in the first season, it's hard to find a middle ground between something that is challenging enough, but not too lengthy and boring.

Not sure what it is but I've not been feeling FM this year at all.

I was like that, never got into 2013 but picked up 2014 during the Steam offer last month and well into my 4th season now within 2 weeks. (football on in background helps).

I always start unemployed to see where I'll end up. My end goal is to win and retain the World Cup, never managed it yet across all versions.
