Do you not feel that it's doing the same task repeatedly though ?

Not at all, even when I've managed a club for ten seasons I don't feel it's repetitive unless I'm winning every cup comp easily each year. Unless you set yourself goals it will always be a good challenge. If you get bored you're not doing it right ;)

Nice reply :), as I said it's still not my type of game my thoughts were based on what I had seen from my dad playing.

And he seems to have a lot of fun himself so I can't complain

Well it's so in depth now you can be playing for hours and not even play a game. It's not for everyone mind and can be very frustrating.

Yeah it's a deep game for sure. Every level of league has its own challenges and I particularly like the way they all integrate. Even the lowest leagues are fun though, especially if you start unemployed. That's probably the most fun I've had with the game. Starting off with zero reputation and building it up whilst trying not to get sacked.

Even when you've built a dominant team you can try to set yourself new challenges, like new goal records, trying for the invincible (it's pretty hard to balance when you get a build up of fixtures with successive games against big teams), or just leave the team and try to topple them with another one (though I still find the AI team management to be poor).

This is where I find real fun sometimes.

In FM13 i had a save where Forest were the kings of Europe, pretty much guaranteed the Champs League final every year.

So i set myself the task of winning the Champs League with a starting XI for the final consisting entirely of players I had had since before the age of 18.

Never did do it!

I don't know what it's like at the top clubs but it's so damn frustrating in the lower leagues, I find things so predictable, I'll be all over a team, they'll score first. If score in a game, they'll instantly equalise. I'll find myself 2-0 up, they score and I know they'll comeback! So much predictability at the mo, very annoying. Team talks in game seem to do nothing.

My squad getting picked to pieces after doing well in CL :( summer transfer window been open a few days and I've already lost the keeper I'd only just signed last summer (Spain no.2 after an aging De Gea), PSG making decent offers on one my wingers, Barcelona after my main playmaker, Chelsea unsettled my 4.5* LB and the new sugar daddy billionaire at Bournemouth wants just about everyone else! All this on top of 2 of my older CB's needing replacing. 50m to spend now but not sure where to start, basically need a whole defence!

3pts clear in L2 after first season promoted after 31 games, performing wat above expectation and reputation is sky high (offered interviews at L2, 1 and championship clubs) so the club offered me a measly £100 pay rise and 1 more year! Stormed out of talks and haven't heard anything back from them in 2 month so could be out of a job at the end of the season despite my amazing performance! :p

Charlton, in the Championship sacked their manager so I duly applied and got the job :)

They're doing ok too, top half of the table. Been an ok start although the usual last game, 2-0 up at home and cruising, only for them to score 2 in the last 15 minutes, when you shout concentrate it basically makes the players do the opposite it seems.

Off the back of a 6-1 away win and I've got Bournemouth who are lower than me in the Champ.

They won, 3-1. It's ridiculous!

Regards comebacks what tactics are you using? Do you just play the same regardless or tailor to your opposition? I think I can recall 3 times in almost 2 full seasons I've had teams recover from a 2 goal deficit, rarely ever happens for me.

Re random results that happens, it's blinking irritating but it happens in real life too so I just try and ignore it. My 6 game streak at the start of the season was ended by bottom beating me 3-0 and my 13 game streak was just ended by 3rd bottom who had lost their last 5 beating me 2-0 at my place

I've tried loads of tactics over the course of three clubs I've been at, I always make sure I get to fluid with them before judging but it certainly seems to be a recurring theme.

I created my own at first then dabbled with the successful ones you find online, the erikson one for example. Same outcome though, score loads, concede more :p

I'm using a reasonably successful tactic which I've created myself. Have just won the Scottish Premiership using it and it has worked well for me. I beat Celtic 4-1 so something is working well.

4 at the back, 2 complete wing backs, 2 central defenders. The CD's stay back at all times, the fast wing backs get forward as fast as they can.

1 DM who pretty much does what he wants, but he is resolute.

2 central midfielders. One is support, one AP.

2 fast and good wingers. I use AML and AMR set to inside forwards. But left and right wingers work equally effectively.

1 striker, in any role which suits the player. I tend to favour the AF or TM roles.

I set them defensively so they always stay behind the ball, but fluid, and use more expression. I lost 7 games all season, in all competitions.

Just had the best match ever.

Had a tough run playing 3 of the top 7 in 3 games. Beat the team with the best defence in league 5-1, then played 4th place and won 3-0.

Went into my last game against the highest scorers in the league who were 5th and played garbage. Was terrible and I was 2-0 down after 81mins and swearing at the computer in some pretty disgusting language :p To top it off I then go down to 10 men as I've used all subs and my left winger got injured.

Was so ****** off I just clicked through the screen, didn't adjust my tactics, so a glaring hole down the left, and went back into the match playing overload, having blasted the team aggressively and sat to stew whilst continuing to swear.

84th minute my DM hits a 30 years screamer (who the **** cares I've lost I mutter to myself) 90th minute my right winger (signed him on a free from Man City called Devante Cole, good but garbage attitude) beats three men and a through ball to my striker who equalises! AMAZING! 93rd minute they get a free kick... they hit the bar... hoof it out... Cole picks it up beats 2 men and hits a screamer into the top corner from the edge of box with the last kick of the game!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Unbelievably I somehow won and doing so got loads of praise in the press from my players for screaming at them in every team talk every five minutes of the match calling them rubbish, questioning their passion and demanding more.

Love it, 9 points clear at the top now with 8 games of the season left and only 2 team from the top 10 left to play, DARE TO DREAM!!! :p

Well you learn something new everyday!

I brought him in expecting to be my superstar but far too inconsistent. Youth player on loan from Toon still my top player.

Won the league by 4 points :D back to back promotions to take Gateshead to league 1 :D

Had a mini wobble drawing 2 and losing one which saw my lead cut to 1 point but won my last 2 to get the league :D

My loan striker from Newcastle was second top scorer with 23 goals in only 26 league games :p My winger was joint on the assist chart, had the highest average rated player (my CM) and had second highest clean sheets.

Should be an interesting summer though as I'm releasing 8 of my squad who have come up with me from the confrence so will need to bring a lot of players in on a free as I still have a garbage transfer budget, £25k :p
