******* Official Football Manager 2015 Thread *******

Do you keep the same tactic throughout? Fancy sending me it so I can try it? :p

I resigned as Charlton manager, it was a pretty terrible time there, finished 14th when I joined midway through the season and then was languishing in a similar position half way through the second season so did the honourable thing and handed in my notice, all the players morale was shot and I couldn't do anything to get it up again.

Within a week Birmingham offered me a job (Championship) so took that, feels like de ja vu with results again mind. The quest for the PL continues but my morale is at an all time low as I just can't get things right on the pitch that suit my players. Grrrr

I switch between 3 tactics depending on the match (study what the opposition are weak against) my main is the Eriksen 4123 I modified it from the online base to suit me with a hardworking Cm and using my wingers to get goals/assists. For harder games I play a 4141 counter attacking tactic really defensive and boring but regularly gets results. Then I have the tried and tested 442 though I rarely, if ever, use that.

My one consistent throughout (mostly) is my team instruction. Always play wide, clear to flanks, whip in crosses, retain possession and close down more which I use across all tactics. I'll post some dumps tomorrow night when I'm online again.

Running through pre-season of my league 1 campaign. No budget (again) so after releasing a tonne of players signed a GK, CM, DM, LW and my 2 immense loan strikers from last season all on frees and brought in 3 loans from Newcastle to shore things up a bit. Poached a load of young ex prem/championship and scot peek rejects and added to my core I'm hoping to have enough to stay up but I think I have reached my limit for consecutive promotions :p

My best signing was my superstar striker Alex Gillead who I've had on loan from Newcastle for 2 years scoring 48 in 60! Got a feeling that he might be maxing out in league 1 though. My keeper signing, Cody Cropper, looks an immense upgrade too.

Come on the 'Heed!!

7 games into the first league one season after promotion and I'm joint second (with 3 other teams) having won 5, drew 1 and lost 1.

Lost and drew the first two games and got ****** off as I was adapting my play and being cautious, so threw caution to the wind playing my attacking 4123 and beat the teams who are currently 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th and one one further down the league so they clearly don't like the game being taken to them :p

Despite that I'm not actually doing overly well, every game is agonisingly close won 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 2-1 and 1-0 :p my goals are coming from all over the place and no striker is stepping up.

Still, a great start! Keep on going and hoping for my luck to contine :p

Wow, an absolute insane end to the season and I came in a whisker away from automatic promotion. I was in 16th place at game 30 when I tinkered with my formation again and got a massive win vs Blackburn, I then went on a ridiculous run only to fail at the penultimate game show on TV at home. I drew the game which in theory ended my hopes of automatic. Finished third so I have the dreaded play offs.

Bear in mind I was expected a top half finish it's been a great season. Mainly due to Sordell and Nabi who scored 29 and 27 in the league!

Wish me luck in the Play offs!

Edit: 3-3 away to Leicester first leg. 4-2 at home!

Stoke in the final...!

Edit2: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! I beat Stoke on pens, it was 0-0 which is incredibly strange for me considering the amount i ship in and score but I did make us go into the game to get a few more men behind the ball, we were under the cosh early on big style and I feared the worst but we held on and had a good second half, I thought we had won it late on but the goal was ruled offside. Literally nothing happened in ET! So chuffed, probably my best achievement in all FM's as it was a mental charge at the end of the season. Now for the big challenge, I started in the Conference and finally get to manage in the PL, brilliant stuff. Barnet > Fleetwood > Charlton > Birmingham....:)

Yeah that's next on the agenda although did that in an old FM :p

Finding PL life ridiculously tough and it's clearly come too soon for us, no money to spend and a very low wage budget. Morale is low and struggling to get it up. Grr.

I got offered the West Ham job ten games into the season and took it. Split my save so at some point I can go back and see how far I could have taken Gateshead but the West Ham job was tok good to turn down, I thought. They are 21st when I took over first season after being relegated and they have great strikers and wingers but then apart from Noble and Creswell the team is horrific. No CM, DM, RB or CB's using youth players and **** to fill out my team. Won 3 and drew 1 of my first 4 but it will be a struggle for the season as 13pts adrift of top.

Strange though I've went from 300k most expensive player to 17.5mill :p

Haha! 2 kids, no issues here :p

Won a couple so gave me a bit of hope even so there's only been ten games! I'm going to be relying on home form, ship far to many goals away.

At least they have money to spend? i haven't had anything to spend in any club, frustrating considering the amount of money you apparently amass in real life form getting promoted to the PL.

Yeah I've got 15mill to spend in Januaryy. Already spent 8mill on a DM, 1 mill on a CB, so got around 7mill to look for a CM. Might try and just loan someone though and look for some good free transfers at the end of the season.

Got a feeling I'll fail with the state of the squad and morale as **** with half of them wanting to leave after relegation but we'll see I guess :p

Just been offered the Stoke job in the BPL which I grabbed with both hands. I was Stranraer boss for 7 years after being unemployed with no experience. I got them into the top tier from League 1, won the Premiership twice, and played well in Europe. I built an enormously effective back room team, with 75% scouting coverage and a pretty good coaching squad. I also managed to find some really cracking players, one of which has world class potential. But the club's infrastructure was weak and I was never able to make the most of it. Poor facilities all round and I struggled to improve them even with investment. So I am ready for a fresh challenge.

I am now with Stoke, whom I have never played as before. I have a huge budget of £24 million and a £1.2 million wage budget which is really nice. I've also not had any expectations as yet, so hopefully they won't be too harsh in my first year! Onwards and upwards!!

I've won 6, drew 1 and lost 1 for West Ham climbing to 9th and only 5pts off top but it is so hard compared to having my happy and settled Gateshead team! :p

Everyone is always ****** off and depressed and wanting to whinge, then whine then leave the club. I've got no CM's to play, no DM (my AML playing there!) and Valencia is always fricking tired! The club is a complete basket case (somewhat like in real life I suppose) and it is really irritating after the smooth ride I had with Gateshead despite being underdogs all the time.

Luckily I seem to be getting the best out of Ravel Morrison (who was on the transfer list and not being played) got 5 goals, 4 assists and 3 MotM awards in the 9 games.

30 games in and sitting in a precarious 17th position, tbh better than I imagined! I hit a bit of form, going to be worrying the next few games.

Got relegated!!

So frustrating, beat Everton 5-3 at home and then lose the next game to an already relegated team 3-1 at home! The game feels so random, I bet if I quit out the game and played it again I'd win! there was no reason for me to lose that game. Arrrgh

That's a dark place! Don't go there! :p

I was on a 10 game win streak then lost for no reason 3-0 and can seemingly no longer score in the last 3 after scoring 19 in the previous 6.

Yeah...so I didn't fancy another season in the Championship so I resigned, not really thinking logically and why a PL club would reappoint me...got loads of job offers in the Champ and League 1 but I didn't want to delve into that again. 19 games into the next season Southampton sacked their manager (In the PL), I applied and got it surprisingly. They're 19th so it's going to be a hard slog with no money as usual but stil have a decent side to be fair.

First game I won 2-0 which put me to 18th 3 points behind 17th.
