Just done the "custometry" defrag. got it up and running in practice mode ATM - looks brill! (2560x1440 res, 2 GTX 480 in sli.) can't do a screeny though (tried F12/Prt scr/ f10 i nfraps but just get a black square??

EDIT its ok now i forgot to look in Fraps folder:(, and screenies in no way (IMO) reflect how it looks when youre playing (IMO):)

I just dont get why this game is jerky fullscreen but in window mode its smooth (maximised).

Seems that someone had this as well... (take from Steam forum).

Q6600 here
with 2 radeon's 3870 in crossfire.
Vista 32 bit
4gb ram.

Running the game in Fullscreen 1680*1050 medium preset no AA : about 20 to 25 fps

Running the game windowed 1680*1050 high preset and 8msaa : 55fps...
dunno why this can have such impact !

but for now i'm living with the small window around my game

it'll be a crossfire issue, since crossfire doesn't run in windowed mode

You think so Disjunto? The wierd thing is...

It runs smoother with crossfire than it does without... that doesnt make sense to me...

And even more wierder.. I just disabled crossfire and it runs smoother fullscreen but still not as smooth as it is windowed mode...

Have you heard of anything like this?

Proper FOV corrections (for both single-triple monitor set-ups (with a great video too)

Most players should use a FOV of about 23o for the most realism, the problem is that then you can't even see the front tyres (unless using multi-monitors). So I find that 50o is the best compromise. (The higher fov of the game makes us perceive speed and depth incorrectly - things are too far away and too fast. But it also means we don't get enough feeling of sped/bumpiness - we do with the smaller FOV)

This si why multiple monitors can be important for realistic views/speed. To calculate the most realistic FOV, use trig/Pythagoras and if you need help Google.

Camera mods

For those who agree the cockpit view is rubbish. (in the wrong place), use this bad boy. (also has a tv-cam style T-cam).

Hopefully someone will mod these physics soon so the game doesn't have such terrible handling/physics. (and the DIRE ffb ;) )

this game seems to be very cpu dependant, im running:
E6600
4gb ram
5770

Getting framerates in races of 35-40 with everything on ultra low. On high settings, similar to I use in dirt2 im averaging around 20. It looks a fun game but until I can afford an upgrade its not really playable.

sigh, about to give up with the stupid amount of punctures. 3 lap MP race, cruising around the second lap because everyone else was pretty crap, tyre randomly blows on a straight.

lost 4 places in the pits, threw engine setting to fast and just floored it. ended up 2nd still. But it should have been an easy win

I think you will find it's GPU dependant not CPU. My [email protected] does not even get warm.

Absolutely fantastic!!!!!

Still not done the first race after having the game two night due to silly spins and AI nudging me or getting a penalty becasue the AI decided to be too slow into a corner and I couldn't match their braking..

Get to lap 8 of a ten lap race going really well... CRASH TO DESKTOP. That's the second time it happened, first time I has just got a great quali session done and the game was on the loading menu.

Not acceptable, the game is mentally demanding as it is, then it just crashes when you're almost there. Hopeless! I'm too easily raged to even go through that again. I also get massive pauses at least once in a session where it stops dead then resumes a few seconds later.
