along with the whole of the ati drivers team the people who made this game want sacking for delivering such utter half harted poor performing *****
surely to god they knew of all the bugs n glitches, if a patch ismt out by this time next week i will be uninstalling this and shelving it
I cant believe how disapointed i am

you sound really dissapointed...

i am willing to bet 86000 ugandan dollars that it has something to do with your ATI cards. both my crossfire setups used to play up every time a new game was released. dont worry though. im sure they will sort it in a few drivers time [or hotfixes]

the cm forum is starting to fill up with unhappy people

Now that I think about it the question mark over AI not pitting explains a wierd thing that happened earlier...

I was in 1st place with Alonso behind me and the engineer said that Alonso was stopping, 5-10 laps later I stopped and came out in 2nd place (thinking that someone had just stayed out without stopping), the strange thing was it quickly became apparent that it was Alonso... I caught him within a couple of laps because the difficulty wasn't that high, so he couldn't have just been blazingly fast.

I don't get it. I am in 11th, easily keeping up with the AI and pit (only held up a little by the pit stop bug). Come out 24th and suddenly the AI cars are much quicker - I overtake a few who pit, but most come out ahead and I end up finishing the race in 20th. Why after pit stops are the AI cars so far ahead, even after they pit themselves??? Until these bugs are fixed I am reducing the difficulty a little as there seems to be no point at the moment. Still having fun though.

Why is there no ai!! Codemasters made a mistake there!

Essentially we are 'racing' a preset time. So in essence a race is a time trial.

Also rather poorly, in the race, the results dont necessarily represent what's happened on track. And in quali you could shunt the AI off at every corner going around silverstone and even though the ai took 3 mins to navigate the track, it's laptime would still be a 1:21.335 or whatever.

Oh dear........

If its not AI but "scripted" how come when the weather changed on my Silverstone race on the last lap from raining to "drying up" I stayed out on inters and ALL the ai pitted. Does this mean all the weather is scripted to occur at a set time?

Or is it just the "AI" doing something in reaction to the "weather" finishing?

I don't believe all this scripted rubbish - certainly not for the race anyway. Can't see the harm in practice and quali, although a little bit of an easy way out for Codies.

No wonder games developers/publishers want the second hand market abolished, I'm seriously tempted to get rid and try to pick up GP4 again with all of these skeletons coming out of the closet, it may not have a modern 3D engine but the fundamentals were sound (and have been since the original in 1991!).

Anybody else notice that the track layout for Silverstone in the game is a little different to the one used in real life because when i was hotlapping it today i was always struggling on the Becketts/Chapel corners.

Nit sure i buy this scripted AI thing. Sure, the timings may be bugged or a bit off but i dont think the game is just making cars "appear" when you are close to them. It tracks all the cars around the track on the mini map.

The game runs fine for me in every respect except one - I can't seem to get AA working. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Guess I'm the only person with AI that matches the times shown? Or am I just the only person reading numbers correctly? First lap times do seem very strange indeed, but after that I feel I'm catching cars at the pace the times say I am.

The pit issues are annoying me though, just had webber pit for options after starting on the options... meaning he was running quite a bit faster than me for a large part of the race.

The issue is that although all the cars are present on track, the times that show up on the timesheet bear no relation to where they are on track. This has been confirmed by CM during quali, but now it seems that this affects races too.

Certainly seems to be something iffy going on with the laptimes, that image from SimRacings reviewer is weird to say the least..

So he finishes the first lap, crosses the line in 1 min 30, is in first, yet the following cars are up to 4 secs faster. Not sure how you can do 1 lap 4 seconds faster and not be in front. Maybe its just misreporting the times though.
