Anybody else notice that the track layout for Silverstone in the game is a little different to the one used in real life because when i was hotlapping it today i was always struggling on the Becketts/Chapel corners.

Yeah, looks like Silverstone has been modelled on the MotoGP track instead of the F1 track.

so glad i invested £500 into SSDs for my computer

only to have to wait for other players to load the game off their floppy drives

that turn is actually sharper than most of the simplified circuit maps actually show. The interactive map showing all the grandstands shows it much sharper the the other maps

yeah, seems like I sit there for 30s+ waiting for people, and my machine is not even that fast at loading

i just timed it

i was in the game 'sat in my car' in 4 seconds flat.

then i had to wait 41 seconds for the other players in the lobby to load before i had to endure the stupid 'out of the pit' animation.

i have seen it before.

just plonk me on the grid and have done.

I have to admit, I am pretty crap at this game :(

The penalties are really starting to get to me. 10 second penalty for a tiny shunt, is TOTALLY unrealistic. Nothing like what would actually happen. The AI never seems to get penalties. Maybe I need to change a few things around.

Certainly seems to be something iffy going on with the laptimes, that image from SimRacings reviewer is weird to say the least..

So he finishes the first lap, crosses the line in 1 min 30, is in first, yet the following cars are up to 4 secs faster. Not sure how you can do 1 lap 4 seconds faster and not be in front. Maybe its just misreporting the times though.

"Because we couldn't make them compete in Qualy this time out :( Looking to sort that though"

If they can't make them compete in qualifying then surely they can't in a race either?

did you count waiting for everyone to "go to race" in that 41 secs? that normally adds another 30s to everything

nope - that was the time it took to get into the car seat and see the waiting icon. you cant even configure your car when they are loading in which would have at least made it more tolerable.

so you have to
  • wait in a lobby for everyone to ready up
  • wait the 4-8 seconds for the fancy graphics to go away in the loading screen
  • wait for the other people with crap computers to join the game
  • wait for them to finish messing with their cars and ready up
  • wait for the pointless and irritating 'drive out of garage' animation to complete
  • wait for the 'look at the cars on the grid' sequence to complete

thats at least two laps of racing in my book.

you sound really dissapointed...

i am willing to bet 86000 ugandan dollars that it has something to do with your ATI cards. both my crossfire setups used to play up every time a new game was released. dont worry though. im sure they will sort it in a few drivers time [or hotfixes]
