all the bugs and issues put into question how much involvement Davidson actually had in the game. The penalty system - especially the corner cutting - is a joke. Surely he would have told them it's not right
 
People on codemasters forum are crazy lol. Asking for apologies and their money back?? :confused: It's a sub £20 game ( on PC at least). That's the price of a new blu-ray, a meal out or a few drinks. I've already had hours of fun with it!

Anyone would have thought it cost £500 or something!

As long as they fix the pit lane bug, show sector 3 on the timings board and maybe make the timings a bit more accurate, then i will be a happy bunny.

I've given up trying to read the codies forums now. It's just kids raging and nitpicking about things that aren't bugs and QQing at everything.

All the major bugs have been highlighted clearly as far as I'm concerned, the rest is just wasted breath.

I swear I must be doing something wrong in the pitstops. I was running in about 18th before the pit stops started and I ran a long stint to avoid the pit stop bug. Despite the fact I was keeping pace with the field I still ended up last by MILES when I came in for my pit stop.

I just don't get it.

Sadly the actual racing is fake which is why this happens. The only racing that takes place is what you can see on-screen, and the cars don't actually exist off camera.

Explains why there was no demo, why no times between cars shown, why you can't control the car in the pits, why you are held in the pits, why you cant watch replays of other cars, why you cant see any other car while in the garage.. The list goes on and on.

There were some much more detailed threads that this over on the Codemasters forums but most have been closed and some appear to have disappeared completely..

He's probably never even played it, just got a big wedge of cash to tell us all how great and real to life it is. :mad:
 
6 hours of game time, still not had a puncture.

The only complaint I have is ther AI lead drivers don't overtake you quickly enough when you are shown the blue flags.

I will concede that when following an AI car, they do seem to twitch around a bit.

I still think it's a good game and is a good first effort for the developers.

You also have to bear in mind that some of the limitations of the game stem from the restrictive nature of the F1 licence.

I think he has played it mate. There are videos of him playing it :p

However, as for the penalty system etc, it seems strange that it has been allowed to stay as is. Surely he would have said something. I've noticed when qualifying, that a yellow flag appears saying there has been an incident in front of me. When I drive through though, there is nothing there! So a yellow flag, and no incident, no cars, no debris etc etc. It's very poor :( Also, I've noticed that the race lead jumps around far too much sometimes between drivers. That has to prove that racing is also fake :(

If its true that there is no A.I and the other cars just appear on screen like say Outrun, why didn't they just build on the A.I in Dirt 2? It uses the same engine.
 
I don't think it is true. I've read the entire thread posted earlier and all it says is that the Qualifying times are fake and not related to the laps the AI does. It says nothing about the Race AI being fake.

From what I can gather the AI can't do qualifying because there wasn't any in Dirt2 or GRID. Why would they suddenly REMOVE the AI from the engine for the racing?
 
Good game to all the chaps who just had a race with me. Some really close clean racing for a lot, well done. This game is great online with REAL opposition!
 
ok, ive just been qualifing on melbourne track
was following button all the way round, i let him lead for a full 2 laps is time was a full 4 secs faster than mine, yet i was on his tail the whole way round
this game fails in so many ways !
 
I want to persuade my mate to get this game, he however does not own a gamepad.

Just how playable is this game with the kb? Its f1 so im guessing it will be insane levels of twitchiness? We are just going to play for fun though...

I use Keyboard and it is playable but you don't get the smoothness in the steering that you would get with a wheel.
