is anyone else having problems connecting up to mates games when invited? Been trying all evening to setup a multiplayer game for two of us and keep getting connection refused. Can sometimes connect to games in the list but different games are listed and only once could we both connect to the same game that someone else was hosting????
 
Just done practice and qualifying for Catalunya.

Faked AI it may be but to be quite honest, i'm still having huge amounts of fun playing it and that's what matters most.

Although, going by everyone saying Catalunya was a pig, I dropped the difficulty back down a bit for this race... then qualified pole :p
 
im still amazed at how i have avoided these punctures you all speak of?

damage and all that is on, yet i have not had a single one and im currently on first season, driving full length races on full race weekends. [i know im a bit silly]

up to montreal so far...
 
Went around my mates today. He was moaning about it being too easy as he can get top 3 in a lotus on professional.

I then showed him you can CUSTOM set the difficulty. He had tyres and fuel off. When he turned them on he was instantly back to the lower midfield.

Those settings should be on as default imo

AI dont use fuel simulation though?

Got upto 2nd in the race in a Lotus, pulling away from every car I overtook, before pitlane speeding penalty.

Single player is broken.

Going to stick to online and time trials until they fix it, so that's probably forever.

Sounds to me like you have tyre and fuel simulation off mate. Turn them on and then try and come 2nd in a Lotus....

PS3 version has some disgraceful screen tearing in the pits, and monte carlo is a screen tear fest in places, and the replays on the PS3 version tear badly as well..

Graphics are quite poor in places for the PS3, you can just tell that in a few years it'll not be as good-looking - looks good in the rain mind, but then I'm now running with the PC version using light mods and better cockpit views - which IMO make this game 20x better...

PC version at 1920 x 1080 with 8 x MSAA with mods though is always going to show the console versions up... Just looks more crisp, so the PS3 versions graphics aren't that bad, but now i've played the PC version - well you can tell.
 
I really want to enjoy this game but because of the issues I am going to pretend that it hasn't been released until they patch it.

Honestly, how could the testers not notice that the ai cars weren't pitting a large proportion of the time?

The testers may have picked up these bugs. The problem for Codemasters is that they had a release date to stick to. Had CM decided to delay the release date for another 2 months, say, until all the issues were worked through, it may have adversely affected the sales of the game, as they desperately wanted to get the game released before the current F1 season ends.

In the above way, it was most likely a commercial/business decision, rather than a design decision, to release a buggy game.
 
Go to C:\Users\"Name here"\Documents\My Games\FormulaOne\hardwaresettings and edit this file hardware_settings_config. Change the part that says direct x 9 to false.

Theres not much point as the graphics glitch on some tracks. You get strange lights floating around. Hopefully something else to be fixed in the patch.

The AI are far too easy, don't assume that just because you can't win in a Lotus, no-one can. Anybody who is decent and has prior experience of racing sims on PC with a wheel can win easily.
