I was going to get this on the 360, but I'm tempted to go with the PC version instead now. Any good, cheapish (£40?) wheels around?

after shopping about it seems that wheels come in 2 catagorys.. cheep and expensive.

Cheep will work fine but wont have good response and unlikely to have Force feedback.. long gone are the days of the 40 quid ffb logitech wheels :(

Expensive will have all the tricks and be a better made bit of kit.

79.99 for a Force GT(official GT5 wheel) works on PC and Ps3 has FFB.. gunn a test it out tonight with nfs shift and the like.. ill report back

this game comes out on Friday 24th. If I get this on steam would i be able to pre download and start playing as soon as i get in around 8pm or would i be better off just grabbing it from a shop?

Pre-download is unlikely for a 'small' title like this.

Personally I would just buy from a shop and be able to play when you want on release day. It's slightly cheaper anyway.

Pre-download has been confirmed by the devs. According to the countdown it will unlock at 6pm. I bought it on Steam because I want it linked to my account, but it is cheaper elsewhere (and you will get it sooner). I am not bothered about waiting a day or two though.

I bought the xbox pad just to play dirt2 which came free with my 5850 and it works a treat with the game, so I am confident it will be pretty good for F1 2010. A wheel would be better but I wont be able to afford one for a while, might pick one up later in the year.

F1 is a massive sport worldwide, (not as popular in the USA but i hope the Texas track for 2012 helps there).

Codemasters did originally want to release this cross platform last year but decided it just was not up to scratch and only released a wii version which was so so. They have put a tonne of effort into this game and I for one can't wait to spin out on Spa in the rain!
