***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

even in arcade mode it should be impossible to post a time like that at Monaco, the physics should not allow it.

I agree with what you're saying, the lack of tyre wear and absence of fuel shouldn't make the car THAT much faster!

Also isn't it true that TT puts assist drivers and agaisnt none assisted drivers?

You can have all assists on and the time still shouldn't be that much faster.

Plus a good driver will get round the track quicker with assists off.

Looks like CM have screwed something up or there is a bug with lap times. Still won't stop me from getting the game though

Well I just installed it and ran the benchmark, avg 55fps at 2048x all settings on max with 2xAA. Runs silky smooth.

AMD 5850 at stock on a Phenom II tri-core @ 3.5GHz.

I won't have chance to play it until tomorrow though, got other priorities.

apart from 2010 having the sun glasses style stupid coour filter the graphics seem more advanced where as 2011 seems to have some almost hardcore sim basic graphics style

Also known as console graphics

Would have been nice to see tessellation options for pc and high quality textures

I agree, F1 2010 did look better in some ways. The water effect on 2011 is pretty sweet though

Theres no doubt the graphics were better in f1 2010 , the colours are better in 2011 but everyone used colour mods for 2010.

I can play this game maxed out at 1920x1200 and avg 70fps or more, couldnt do that with 2010 averaged 50.

those f1 2010 vs f1 2011 videos on youtube are intresting :P

some of the 2010 effects look better if it wasnt for the crappy "colour filter" stock 2010 had the graphics would look better imo...

how come they got rid of the shader effect on tarmac aswell?

Only difference I can see is post processing. I call shenanigans.

I have found this very annoying that as soon as the car begins to slide there is nearly no way to catch it. In F1 2010 I used to just hit the brakes and did some stearing against the dirft and hit the paddle again. But in F1 2011 this ain't possible anymore not for me anyway.

Found it to be less of an on-off, but less grip also, you have to be quick to catch it. Dab on the brakes drifts the front end, or lifting off brings to grip the back end. Took me a while but there is less of a cliff edge than 2010. Practise on your own with no assists to get a feel of the grip:)

Postman has just been..... my copy sat on my desk will have to wait till later.

Just hope the wheel turns up tomorrow.

Ok so we started a new Co-op championship with Sauber,

For settings we forced everything off and on pro difficulty
we both hosted and both had the bug
It was the very first P session of Australia {if you skip the session it does it again )

Hope that helps

Thanks for the response, passing over to the QA guys now.

This game runs like an absolute beauty :D

My system is only an i7 @ 4ghz with 6970/6950/6950 trifire, it's really running immense at 1920x1080!!!

GJ :( Something tells me somethings not quite right with the drivers/game just now.

Turn off crossfire. Until AMD sort out their drivers its not going to work very well.

Obvious solution but it really makes me feel sad more than anything that after spending money on hardware you just get shafted more and more.

Sorry about this, but the more info you can provide the more variables we can eliminate. If you have the time can you answer as much of the below as possible. Feel free to email me the details at [email protected] as if you answer all the questions it would be a hefty post!

• Confirm for us that “forced everything off” means the driving assists, and the mode is long race weekend.

• Both players graphical settings (screenshot the My F1 -> Graphics screen) and what DirectX version you are running in along with if you are using crossfire.

• If are using the US version, and if it's steam or retail.

• The exact point the car received the terminal damage (if you can FRAPS or a screenshot of the point it occurs)

• What modes were played before you went Coop/Sauber and if you had terminal damage before (and method of damage)

• If you are using a wheel and what model.

• If you had modified the car setup in any way, either using Quick Setup, tyres, or the car monitor.

• Was this 100% of the time for both of you?
