***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

That was great racing tonight. Shame i was slow as a snail especially in brazil.

Was defending most of the time instead of attacking. Btw my name is mitja2011 in the game. Anyone know if it is possible to change my tag?

Relatively enjoying the game but theres still a few things that are really irritating me.

The new handling model I simply am not getting on with. I thought at first that it was just getting used to a change, but I really don't think it is.

There's a deadzone of a few degrees even if I change the wheel settings and as such this is drastically affecting how I drive. I now have to turn in much earlier for corners to negate it and it's against how the car should drive. 2010 felt razor sharp in comparison and to me, how an open wheel single seater should feel.

Also at higher steering inputs, the car feels "drifty" even when not losing traction. Its like playing Daytona USA in the arcade. Makes it far more difficult to detect traction loss and sometimes I've corrected a slide which isn't there.

Also during practice and quali the AI are doing my head in. They don't get out of the way and if you take the inside line to overtake them, they feign sharp swerves. If you hold the racing line - they squeeze you out.

The game is great otherwise, but damn these bugs are ruining it for me.

anyone else come across the AI been a lot faster in a straight line compaired to you, ive tried all wing settings and we both have drs open but they just sail past. getting abit annoying now

You in a Lotus by any chance?

Yes and Yes.

It's alright, I tend to massively outbreak them in the end...

Also not getting KERS :(

Definitely enjoying the game at the moment - going through career mode.

But race at Monaco... It was chucking it down with rain during the race as well! Absolute Hell.

For anyone wondering, if you get Kers with Lotus etc in season two, got there last night and Nope still stuck with no kers.

The plus side is the car is much better this season now I finished 8 in the constructors, even my team mate seems a bit faster this season instead of battling for 23-24 hes up in the middle of the pack with me, taking it to the Saubers and force India drivers.

I've moved into 50% races see how it goes. The longer races seem to make the game shine a little bit more under SP conditions.

Get a Driving Force GT they are great wheels around the same price as the Thrustmaster maybe a bit cheaper, Think it goes too around 900 degrees lock?

+1 for logitech DFGT, they are great wheels i am using one myself. I think some one is selling one in MM section as well.

Hmm looking on the codemasters forum apparently there is a bug with equal cars, with the Renault and Toro Rosso being slower by 0.5 and 1 seconds.

Somehow I don't think it's quite true though and could be absolute nonsense.

HBK with a wheel, hmmm I hope he isn't even faster.

I should be on from 7:30 onwards. Sorry Gux for Nurburgring. You were moving about a lot in front of me, but I still should have braked a fraction earlier at the hairpin before the uphill fast chicane. My fault.

Mike, I'd be a lot slower for quite a while :D At least I'd have some ****** traction control :D

I am up for another race but i can only make it at 9pm at the earliest.

Hbk dont worry it was a racing incident. I was moving way too much when coming to the hairpin.

Jeez oh, being playing noob style for a while, traction control full etc!!

Just turned down to medium traction, thought I would get used to it first and I wiped nearly two seconds off my best time at Montreal!! Thought I was actually doing well before :).

Actually faster than Murray there now, although HBK still kills us all :)

Anyone recommend actually turning it fully off?

PS will be able to race from half 8ish tonight!
