***Official GTX 670 thread***

Just got confirmation of my Palit Jetstream 670 order. Never used Palit before, not really sure about it but gave it a go. £310 is a cheaper than a reference model. Probably the wrong order to do this but are Palit any good?

I've had a couple of gainward / pallit cards and my experience of them is that they don't bin their chips for the OC models, so it will be pot luck as to what OC you get out of it... but a decent cooler for cheaper than reference is a good deal whichever way you look at it

I'm scared to try, it seems to throttle quite early, I'm doubtful I'll get 1300+ but I'll have a tinkle.

The thing I don't like is that it isn't even the TOP edition, and OCUK charge too much for it. The 915 MHz base clock cards don't have cherry picked GPUs on them.

The KFA2 EX OC has a worse cooler, but a 1215 MHz handpicked chip, so changing it for a standard clock Asus whic costs £20 more now would be silly.

Cheers mate. Felt it was the best I could do for my budget. Anything more and I would've gone 680 probably. Really wanted KFA2 but hey ho, life is about trying new things eh?

Not sure what you mean? I live in Wales butt.

I understand your point, but it was worth it for me though as all I wanted was a silent card, I'd easily take a 10% performance loss for it and pay a premium, I imagine the TOP edition runs hotter as well and may ramp the fans up more.

I never really liked the 3 slot coolers, they were rarely as good as Gigabytes or MSIs dual slot coolers.

They were/are slightly better. I've not known one of the three slot coolers ever going over 40% fan even heavily overclocked and overvolted . Obviously 3 slots isn't ideal for everyone but if you have the space there is no substitute for a large heat sink and fans.
