***Official GTX 670 thread***

Ordered myself the wind force Gigabyte Card.

Wont be massively faster than my GTX 470 SLI set-up I wouldn't have thought, albeit a lot cooler, quieter and more power efficient.

Will be nice not hitting the 1.2gb memory limit in BF3 though for a bit of extra AA :).

Ill be interested in your BF3 results NeoVo. Also on 470 sli and looking to move to 670. Still unsure as to what one to go for. Gigabyte windforce or KFA2. Got the cash in the bank, but it'll mean a lean weekend if i buy this week. Decisions decisions.:o

It only matters on AMD's claims that its a higher quality chip, presumably giving some higher OC headroom. We will see. For this gen I would say nvidia probably have the high end won, with AMD taking the mid-range crown with the 7850.

Sure thing, I've got fraps etc so can record some results. BF3 is quite a variable game graphically, but it should give a rough indiciation :).

Get some Heaven and 3DMark results before and after as well. I'd imagine the 470 SLI should just edge the 670 but, as you've already mentioned, the biggest plus will be lower power draw and significantly less noise and heat being output :)
 
Went for the MSI, but worried about the noise from posts on here now :(

Saying that, I'll be gaming through headphones all the time so it's only really an issue when I'm browsing the web or computers on in the background. Is it that noisy when idle?

7970 isn't going to reduce 670 prices, its more like the other way around.

AMD need to make a card with out of the box performance equal to a GTX 680 to equally compete and steal any thunder, and yet they are taking a very long time to do that.

Thats what ive thought, the 470's are pretty hot and therefore loud. Coupled with the 1.2gb vram limit use of msaa at ultra in bf3 is a no no. Minimum framerate will likely be improved on as well over the sli setup, ive noticed this before when going to a single card. Power use in my rig is also pretty high, total system draw at the wall of 630w, (4ghz 17 920).

Some people are saying the fan on EVGA on idle was noticeable but my reference KFA2 was silent @ idle, just noisy in-game.
