literally only 1 or 2 people have complained about stuttering (in this thread)
But its SERIES inherent. That means that it is an issue suffered by all cards...or seems to be, but those that do not play games with forced V-sync, i.e. console ports, will not even know what this stuttering is.
The fact remains that it is not acceptable for a mid-top priced/ranged card.
Most people probably only play one title for a lengthily period at a time, but should you wish to play many games and try different games out for fun, you would expect to eventually find a title that suffers from this issue unless it is fixed.
The statement is reassuring from Nvidia, but the vagueness and the lack of response is a concern. I am a prospective buyer and unless I can be guarenteed that all games will not have such game-changing experiences (in a negative sense) I will not fork out over three-hundred pounds for what should be the price of a high end card for one that only works with certain games.
If this issue didnt exist, I would be 100% looking at trying Nvidia cards as they do seem promising, but the hate for AMD that is displayed by some I cannot fathom, as I own an AMD card and to be fair it has been very good. This stuttering is a major issue that until fixed I will not purchase.
I mentioned the pointless benchmark scores because people dont 'play' benchmarks. I am only really interested at within game performance. Most people suggest Nvidia performs better within the majority of games (not found much conclusive evidence), however if this issue is not fixed soon surely Nvidia's gaming image is going to be blemished. The Active-Vsync is a massive selling point of both Z77 motherboards and 6xx series cards.
Hopefully they will fix it, but for me...the waters become even more cloudy as to which card to buy - 670/80/85 even, or 7970/7990/whatever comes next
