***Official GTX 670 thread***

Been doing a bit of overclocking on my windforce, added +100 to the core and memory, ran heaven.

Temps dont go over 60c, (auto fan). Regarding the power limit %, ive set this to 100% on the slider, is that ok?

From what I can make out the power limit increase does next to nothing, the power consumption is temp based, if temps are running high it may be worth increasing the power limit.

On a windforce you should be able to set +150 core +500 memory with ease. My current setting is +165 +750, any higher on core and the driver crashes, any high on memory I start to artifact.

Think I'm going to keep the 670, purely on the basis that I know I'm going to hit driver issues with AMD as well, and for the most part games seem stable, only a few engine frame capped games seem effected with this stutter issue.

BF3, Ultra pre-set, 2x MSAA, SBAO, 16x AF, high post processing, motion blur disabled, FXAA set in NVCP at above clocks gives me 90-200 FPS, I even had to enable v-sync at 120 frames to stop it spiking so high :p

Thanks, ran it again with +120 on both, (baby steps lol). Will give 150/500 a pop. Playing bf3, at stock speed, ultra settings on 1920x1200, hbao on, 16xaf, 2x msaa motion blur off (it hurts my eyes tbh) never dips below 60fps, boost clock with +120 was 1310 mhz.

EDIT: +150 and +500 causes the driver to crash.

You shouldn't worry too much about clocking the core, too much the driver will simply crash, just keep an eye on clocking the memory as thats when artefacts will appear.

If you do get a 'driver stopped responding' error, do a full reboot before you try anything else as I've found it screws the clocks up if you try OC after a driver crash.

The clocking abilities of your card are very similar to my card, would take a guess that you should manage 1350/7200 with ease.

Dropped core to +130, memory at +500. Boosting to 1320mhz and stable in heaven.

Ill likely leave the core at that as im pretty pleased with it. Will try upping the memory a bit more. Thanks for your advice/input pgi947.:)

Hello to everyone.

This thread finally made me join the forum as I have been a reader for over a year. I am not one to post frequently as I am more of a reader.

I bought a gigabyte windforce 670 from ocuk (thanks for the great service) so I would like to chime in with my experiences just to maybe help others.

This is the quietest card that I have owned to date even more so than the asus 7950 dc2 top that I had a few weeks ago and the sapphire 7950oc that I had last week. I had to return them due to faults but they were very good cards.

In the pictures online of the windforce, I must admit that I thought it was ugly but in the flesh it has grown on me.

Performance wise I am happy. My card only boost to 1137 so I know that it's lower than a lot of other users in this forum but it doesn't mean much in games as the difference in frame rate is tiny. We are not talking about differences of mhz in the hundreds but only tens.

I booted up bf3, played for a minute on gulf of oman then went to change the video settings from high to ultra only realizing that it was already on ultra. It was much smoother than my last card hence me thinking that it was only on high settings. My last card had a lot of screen tearing as well but this one doesn't.

I had the vsync bug when I played batman ac and tried every setting to sort it out and managed to get rid of it by using the driver that shipped with the card which is 301.25. Any driver after that brings it back.

The card keeps the temps around 65c at approx 45 percent on auto with my side case fan blowing outward.

I have tried overclocking it and could only manage +60 on the core using gigabyte oc guru which boosted to 1183 but was only stable for about 4 minutes. Afterburner can only manage +40 as beyond that crashes the driver.

Heaven 3.0 at 1080p 4aa normal tess

stock clocks
fps 71.0
scores 1790
min 28.7
max 168.4

Overclocked with boost to 1176 resulted in 74.3fps with a score of 1873.

I don't plan on playing games while fiddling about with overclocking software anymore so this gpu is perfect for me. I also play in 3d and so far so good except that it no longer locks the frames automatically like my gtx 580 did. I have to enable vsync in game otherwise you will get halos and trailing when turning.

So overall, very happy except when I saw brown tape over the serial number on the box but was able to remove it easily enough.:D Sorry for the long post.

Here is two user reviews of the palit jetstream (translated from german)

Did the card yesterday (05/16/2012) receive and am more than satisfied. Zocke BF3 in Ultra settings (in Full-HD) with about 70-80 FPS. The card has more than enough power reserves for future top titles like MaxPayne3 or FarCry3 in most settings.

Previously had a GTX560ti installed in my system, with which I have brought in 3DMARK11 4760 points (all on PERFORMANCE). With this card, a whopping 7977 points were taken!

Who wants to see my complete system ---> http://www.sysprofile.de

The card is in the desktop operating only about 25-26 ° degrees Celsius (at a fan speed of 960rpm and 30% fan speed) ... Under load (BF 3) it is between 60-61 ° degrees Celsius (fan speed of 1400rpm or 41-43% fan speed) ... The temperature therefore never reach a critical value and the volume is also in the good range (IDLE only slightly noticeable and disturbing but never heard LAST, especially headset attached ^ ^)

The card has a default GPU clock speed of 1006Mhz and a boost clock speed of 1085Mhz, this is just so .... on GTX680-level Who likes to say the turns a little screw on the clock and can catch up with a GTX680.

CONCLUSION: Strong buy recommendation for anyone who wants to play graphically complex games in the highest quality and are ready for it to be about 370 € on the table.

Hello,

I have the NVidia GTX 670 from Palit bought at (SNIP), because it was here at the cheapest (nowhere else was / is it cheaper).
I do not Kannste this page first so I was a little skeptical that I spend on a foreign site so much money? My answer to that: it was the right decision!

Short summary:

Graphics card: It is simply amazing! Battlefield 3 is when I'm on the floor with 70-80 fps and see if I fly with the helicopter and the whole map, then about 50fps. So all in an ultra green area! Modern Warfare 3 also provides this with worn 140Fps ~!
In addition, it is not hot! For me it is hot just over 40 ° C! And I can not hear out of my body (For this is my CPU fan loud and then when I have money again, I'll order here with me a new CPU fan)
The graphics card is even equipped with LEDs on the fan! (Blue)
The new Kepler-architecture in relationship to the äteren graphics cards are economical!

Service: As I erähnt, I was a little skeptical because I (SNIP) not previously known, but then I've ordered this video card and after 2 days was a good piece in my home!

I will recommend (SNIP) clear and the graphics card as well!
So if you have enough money, you should consider!

I hope I could help someone with it!

Hi Davanius, welcome to the ocuk forums.:)

They are indeed very impressive cards, even at stock speed they cope very well with bf3. Nice and quiet as well. Luckily i didnt have any problems with the packaging on mine, the box was tape free.

I'm reading a simple hotwire mod on DCUII 680's can enable upto 1.45v :o

The 670 run from the same PCB? Doesn't look overly complex either, remove a resistor and solder a few wires in.
