***Official GTX 670 thread***

Default fan profile on a windforce here, hits 61c max in a case with poor airflow. Boost hits 1320mhz, not as high as some on here ive seen. But the memory oc's pretty well, +750 over stock tested so far.

Case below.

Shinobi xl compared to my old lian li.

I reckon it would run a fair bit lower in the Lian Li, as the airflow in it is much better than the shinobi.

Like the look of the non reference 670's, I think they are best bang for buck high end card so far this gen (HD 7580 midrange) but still overpriced on what they should be. I want a pair for SLI (2560 x 1440), but that would cost around £700 and only yield around an extra 1000 points in 3D Mark 11 as an example of how little a performance increase VS cost..

My current 480's score 12,547.. 670 SLI seems to get around 13,590, that's an extra 1043 points for almost 3 times the cost.. 480's cost around £250 for both. Pricing seems to high this gen?

Think i'll just keep waiting for some kind of GK110 GPU....

1293 boost clock is not bad, though on the low side for a windforce, it looks like you've got the fan on auto, are you running a custom fan profile? 71C seems a little warm for a windforce, try increasing the fan % and try again

I' m facing a similar situation tho its slightly worse than the other guy.I cant get over +65 on the core clock even if i increase the voltage to the maximum. Memory can get up to +750 though. Temperatures are about 65-66 on a custom fan profile with 50% minimum speed. I think boost clock goes up to 1280. I was expecting a bit more tbh. I ve tried increasing only the core clock and played with the voltage but it still cant do over +65

Hi,
I seem tobe doing a lot better with just a medium oc.
+75 core +500 mem i think, dno , took it the other day and i've settled on 550mem and 75 core.

Similar here, I got an out the box boost of 1202MHz which is better than most. But then I find it tops out at 1283Mhz (Temp: 67, Fan: 45%). Memory is happy up to 7516MHz.

I think I'm going to reapply the paste, will put Chill Factor III onto mine - see if it drops my temps, I've probally just got a rubbish card. :(

Quite surprised to see so many Windforce cards struggling to break 1300mhz, perhaps I just got very lucky with 1374/7700 :o

Those that are struggling what is your power consumption like in heaven while overclocked?

Going to do some extensive BF3 testing and benching tonight, seems allot are interested in the performance in these games. Off the top of my head, indoors i'm hitting 120-200 fps, out doors 90-120fps, ultra preset, 2x msaa, 16x AF, SBAO, High post, motion blur disabled.

I cannot reach 1300 core stable, power usage never goes higher than 76% though, in heaven with my max oc.

Hmm, I was hitting over 80% on air above 1300. And managed 101% last night on a zotac bios.

When I do any future benchmarking for the 670's I'll lock my clock at 1300/7000, this should give an idea of what the majority of cards can handle

Hi,
Hows that zotac bios?
Seeing as how you hit 101% does that mean you got a higher oc?

I'm toping out around 75%

:)

Well, out of the box on my Palit jetstream I am getting 1150 boost clock. Quite happy with my heaven scores etc and I have a sneaky feeling there would be more in the card if I had better air flow. Time for a new case I feel.

Not much into oc'ing gfx cards so probably wont fiddle any more with the card.

Its not really offering anything other than a better stock boost (1215mhz over 1189mhz). The reason I'm getting 101% power usage from the zotac bios, is that the AMP! card it was taken from is only 4 phase (6+6 pin) where as the Windforce is 5 phase (8+6 pin).

I'm still trying to get hold of a GTX680 Windforce bios to give that a try and see what happens.
