***Official GTX 670 thread***

Or you can use the nvflash backup option, its all the same thing.

I'd stay aways from other stock BIOS files for now, I got artefacting at stock with a zotac BIOS, remember the wf is the only 680 ref PCB 5 phase board atm.

Im pretty sure my card has 5 + 2 phase.

Wow, I'm very impressed by this card. I've never had such a smooth gameplay experience. BF3 Ultra maxed out 1080p, 60FPS constant. No stuttering.

Getting about 40FPS in skyrim, but that's with about 30 mods, lot's of high res textures and a heaviy modified ini file. Looks amazing.

Still getting poor performance in STALKER Clear Sky though? Only getting about 25FPS in open areas :(

With the fan running at a constant 60% speed (definitlely NOT quiet) my temps on default 980 MHz running Heaven Benchmark are between 65/66°C surely that isn't right?

Mine runs around 58C in Heaven at stock speed and fans don't get anywhere near that fast

Remember that unlike a reference card, the Windforce outputs a lot of heat and airflow into the case.

If you case cooling is decent then it could be that the Windforce is creating a dead zone in your case. Try another slot if you have one, or relocate wiring/peripherals etc to try and redirect airflow?

Thanks for the reply. I have a X-FI Sound Card directly behind the GTX 670 Windforce - within 3MM distance of it, I wonder if this is the problem... going to take the soundcard out and will report back.

Power consumption during heaven was 220w compared to 350 of a single 570, 550 of 570sli and 300 of a single 560ti.

That's awesome isn't it!? They've come a long way since the original Fermi.

I can forgive Nvidia for the current stuttering problems I've experienced in older games (as long as they fix it quickly).

WOW nice setup ! lovin the 2 x Asus GeForce GTX 670  did you get a discount?

Well just swapped out my reference KFA2 670 for a Gigabyte Windforce 670 and the sound levels are like chalk & cheese.

Currently approx 10c lower in temp, fans are running on Auto and at 30% speed. Overall damn happy.

Did a comparative Heaven bench and temps maxed at 61c (80c in KFA2), fan speed hit 45% (60% in KFA2) and scores are 100 points better, but that's due to the factory overclock on the Gigabyte.

All I can say is that if you're tempted by a 670, go for a custom cooler version as you'll save your ear drums & be much happier with your performance.

The reference are not bad, but the Gigabyte and KFA2 EX OC are the quietest by far. Though Gainward Phantom and Palit Jetstream are in stock which have quiet coolers also. :)

Gibbo,

Whilst you're here, can you please prove to the doubters that the Windforce 670 was indeed on "This Weekend Only"...

There was no mention of a one day only deal anywhere including on the actual product and I'm pretty sure it lasted longer than a day.

It seems as if they are getting up in arms about how OCuk is playing see-saw with the price when it was simply a TWO deal. I would point them to the relevant thread in the "Latest News, Deals & Special Offers" sub-forum but for the last two weekends a thread for the TWO deal has not been posted, despite there actually being the usual weekend deal :)

I took the soundcard out, made no difference, 70°C @ 47% auto fan speed so it's throttling, that is running stock speed in Heaven 3.0 Benchmark. :(

It doesn't really hold back the clock, still get 1280 boost when @ + 105 offset - think I got a bog standard average one, but the temps are a joke at default.

Not 100% yet, pay my holiday off first and then either ocuk tech lab (Msi oc) or the windforce 7970. I toyed with the idea of the Msi lightning but single link dvi is no good for me.

lol lets just say it was reasonably priced. Anyways i had to return them cos of temperature issues, top card was cooking @ 90-96*C on just playing BF3, Heaven Benchmark etc. It's probably cos the cards where to close to each other and I'm running it on a mATX. Besides that my GTX 690 is on the way as we speak.... Sweet!
