***Official GTX 670 thread***

I reckon you'll be safe with the gigabyte cards in sli. They differ from the phantoms in a few ways - 3 fans on the windfarm (just can't resist) vs 2 on the phantom, plus the windforce is a full length card with an overall better cooler. There I've said it! If only I wasn't so stubborn to go with the phantoms.

2x 670's are just awesome, performance in bucket loads. I've been replaying some Crysis 2 at 2560x1600 all ultra and it's bouncing around the 55 - 60 fps (vsynced). 2x670 is the right path, just chose your cards wisely.

You sending them back then? :(

Mine's so good I'm ordering a second one today :D

I got the MSI one and have to say, noise isn't bad at all, but then I only ever game with headphones on so I wouldn't notice it when it starts to fire up anyway

They both do look rather fancy :D I was also wondering about the Overclock potential of them both too.

Gigabyte Windforce, had mine at full throttle and boosted to 1300 on the core and still didn't go past 61c and about 40% fan, that's in this hot weather, would be less normally:eek:

Silent as a mouse :D

Better UK warranty, also forgot to mention my card only auto boosted to 1163, which seems like the mid end of others in this thread but still easily got 1300 with EVGAs PX :)

which would be the better choice between the Gigabyte Windforce and the Asus DirectCU II 'IF' they were still same price (I know the gigabyte one is on TWO).

the gigabyte windforce is hands down the better card compared with the asus - in comparison the windforce tends to OC higher, run cooler and quieter than the asus... and I have a graph to prove it :D
and they have the better warranty and RMA service

I had to deal with the asus support team last year which was a total nightmare. They were sending me duplicate emails with the wrong dates on them. They didn't have a replacement monitor for at least a month and when they sent me the monitor, it was in a terrible state. I had to sell it as I wasn't happy at all.

That's why I went with the Gigabyte instead.

My previous GTX 670 Windforce would only do +105, +500ish fully stable in Heaven 3.0, my new one does +150 GPU Offset, +700 MEM Offset so 1340/7406 - Excellent!

But the temps are more or less the same, even at 1:1 Fan Curve fan ramping to 69%.

I have even taken my hard-drive cases out now and put my SSD into the 5.25 drivebay, so their is a 200MM fan blowing directly to the graphics card without nothing blocking the air flow.

I'm not sure what is wrong with the temps, it's mind boggling as the previous owner didn't go over around 60°C, any advise on reducing the temp or what the problem is??

higher ambient temps past few days, its 12am and still hot outside
But would that boost my temps compared to someone else by upto +10°C?

Mine only does +80 core offset and it started with only 1130ish so top out at 1212Mhz :(

On the other hand I've managed to get memory up to a mighty +775 so not all bad.

What I've done is ordered the mesh side panel for my 650D, going to fit a BitFenix Spectre PRO 200MM to the side as an exhaust, with it pulling the hot air out that the Windforce is pushing out I'm hoping my temps will be a lot better, should find out later today when the fan arrives.
