***Official GTX 670 thread***

:confused:If your running sli on 670's ,would you put your fastest (highest clocking)card in the first slot or does it make no difference? Tried googling but to no avail, thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware the 600 series don't match clock speeds in sli. I've seen in my afterburner logs 2 cards running differently, albeit a few MHz apart that it makes no real difference.

One good reason for having your faster card in the primary slot is for games that don't support SLI. For example when iD have another Rage .

not sure we are looking at the same site as they still have 40 in stock

but £317.99 is about £55 cheaper than here

just cant decide if its a big enough upgrade from my overclocked asus direct cu gtx570

to justify the cost

Maybe not if you already have a 570.

But I have upgraded from a 5870 and from benchmarks, its at least twice as powerfull.

Oh and I am in love with the Nvidia drivers. Exaclty what drivers should be, self cotained not broken up in to bits like AMD's.

Plus they feel so quality in comparision.

well, I got two of those from that site.

Worked out cheaper than the other route I was going of 2 reference 670 with accelero mono added.

Better everything at less cost could not be ignored...

its a bit of a balancing act--the longer i wait for the gtx670 to drop in price the less my

gtx570 is worth to sell--need to time it right

i know the gtx670 is more power efficient and faster but i am only using 1920 x 1080 for

gaming

think i will hold on a little just to see if that £317.99 price gets some other sites to cut

their price even further

The only minor issue I have with my 670, is that it has stubbonly set my refresh rate at 59hz where as my monitor is 60hz and my 5870 was happy to report 60hz refresh rate, but the Nvidia card only sees 59hz...

Also adaptive Vsync. I have set it in the global section of the Nvidia control panel... but im not entirely sure it is working in BF3. I seem to get tearing... although I could just be seeing things :p

Would it work better if I find the BF3 profile in control panel and set it there?

says here adaptive vsync may cause tearing if you dont maintain over 60fps

Surely thats not correct.

Under 60hz the fps cant cause tearing becuase my monitor can do 60hz, anything over 60hz (which is where tearing occurs) adaptive vsync should turn on, locking framerate to no more than 60ghz...

So I can only conclude that adaptive vsync isnt working.

Edit ok I re-read that link again, I think I understand now. But I thought tearing doesnt occur if the fps are below that of your monitors refresh rate?

Well Im due to get a 3570k in the next few days, hopefully that will push my frames above 60fps.
