***Official GTX 670 thread***

Post back how you get on mate - I currently have a 5850 and am thinking about upgrading to a 670 (not sure which one to go for, quiet & cool being my priorities).

Well, tested it late Sunday evening.

Massive improvement in graphics, Im chuffed to bits.

DayZ look amazing now compard to what it looked like on the 5850. Also I'm impressed with how things look in BF3. Loaded up a multiplayer game, Grand Baazar and it was raining....I'd never seen it rain in BF3 before on the Raddy 5850  everything looked gorgeous and smooth. Really impressed and worth the upgrade, just i ntime for Guild Wars 2 and Planetside 2.

Good morning

I was wondering if I could get some advice, I have bought myself a Gigabyte 670 Windforce and would like to take full advantage, I am currently using the "OC Guru II".

Now I busted up everything by 30% the voltage GPU and Memory via the interface and it runs smoother, it is still running cool as a cucumber and hits 50 degrees sometimes for a short time as then the fan kicks in and pops it below during load max is something like 45+- and the fan never only goes to 40% at 51 degrees which is very uncommon.

I was wondering if anyone had a good site to visit, to use the card to its full potential, any advice or hints and perhaps a good and safe overclocking tool.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers for feedback - good to hear its all good and no regrets.

Hows the fan noise compared to your old 5850 ?

Can't tell the difference tbh as I have a rogue 120mm fan in the case that is causing a bit of a racket and I can pinpoint which one it is.

All in all I'm relaly impressed wit hthe card, look forward to playing soem other big titles on it to see what its like. Think I may try Skyrim tonight :D

Personally I use evga precision and sometimes the msi afterburner to up the clocks. I use a mix of heaven and my most played games for a few hours to test the overclock and check the stability

EVGA card arrived today - took me 2mins to install, no probs whatsover.

Just had 15mins to test Witcher 2 + Saints Row 3 - nice big performance boosts from my 5850, Witcher 2 in particular looking fantastic running full whack with all bells and whistles on.

Fan whir is slightly noisier than the old card but hardly noticable - I'd still class as 'quiet'.

One thing Im not sure of - theres a lot of settings in the Nvidia control panel that Im not savvy with - are there any default options in there that should be changed ?

So should you choose F4 or F12? What exactly is the difference?

e:

If your VBIOS version is:

F1, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F2-F9.

F10, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F11-F19.

F20, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F21-F29.

etc.

Right, I'm confused.

Just got my Gigabyte WF 670. Updated the drivers etc.

Looking at MSI Afterburner I get this:

PsP2

If I'm not mistaken, the card should come at stock with:

Core Clock: 980MHz
Shader Clock: 1960MHz

Please tell me I haven't got a duff card..

Have you tried precision x by evga?

It might of scaled down the frequency because you're not giving it enough load?

get the latest afterburner - that display is all wrong for GTX670 - my guess would be that you haven't updated afterburner - what version are you running? (conveniently missing from the screenshot)
is should say "power target" which is a % up to 122% and offsets for the others like +0 as default

It was out of date, yes.

If it is a visual bug then all is good. I guess I'll have to play about with it for a bit.

Thanks!

F'ing fantastic, I think one of the fans on the card is slightly broken resulting in the most frustrating clicking/flicking noise when the card is at idle.

I should be thankful the whole card isn't duff but it's one of those small things that really set me off.
