looking to upgrade from my 580 gtx for nvidia surround, looking at the price to performance ratio 670 seems the way to go, im definately thinking SLI, anyone else made the jump from a 580?

I did. I sold my GTX580 for £220 and bought used EVGA GTX670 for £250.
Best £30 invested I say:)

I bought the 670 kfa2 oc 2gb version and i cannot fault it, I got a POV gtx260 with a 2 year warranty and its still running fine so hopefully this KFA one will.

I cannot seem to get any games to struggle on it even after i set all nvidia control panel to best quality max AA and AF and MSAA in bf3 / Skyrim / Rage using 1920x1200 res. I thought it would slow to below 60 fps a lot more than it does.

Although i did come from a gtx 260 ;) love it!

The PCB is a larger one with 1x8 and 1x6 pin and runs 70 degrees max but i have not heard the fan spinning up yet.

Thats what im upgrading from 460 768mb.

Couldnt resist the 670 FTW for £309.

Question regarding drivers, do i just swap cards as i already have the latest drivers installed.

I'm not sure if series 4 and 6 drivers are indentical. I'd guess they aren't.

I'd pop the new card in then do a clean re-install of the latest drivers. That way the installer will see the new card and load the 6 series drivers.

I finally got my EVGA GTX670 yesterday!
It is amazing - I upgraded from GTX580 and I have to say it is amazing change.
I had 580 for 18 months and lately I noticed that it wasn't enough for my 2560x1440 res and playing all games in full highest settings.
To compare - GTX580 gave me 21-25fps in average, last night when first tried GTX670 - I was getting solid 30-40fps!!!!
I sold my 580 for £220 and paid £250 for few months old 670 - best £30 spent this year so far:D

I'm happy you are really happy, good deal but uhm.... 30-40fps is crap in my book, you like that? And what is that fps based on?

EVGA Presicision software or sth like that:)
Crysis 2 - 30fps is fine for me, I dont see difference between 30 and 60fps to be honest.

Think I'll be following suit with the FTW tomorrow, but OCUK pricing of some 670's are very high right now, including the FTW and Windforce. May be forced to go with competitor, end of the day, a £ saved is a £ saved

Planing on investing in two evga 4gb 670s, does anyone know if they are the short ref pcb? As I'm going to put them under water so if they are the short pcb then they will be able to fit in my current case.

I have two of thease which I will shortly be watercoolong. They are the refernce short PCB but with more Vram chips. The cooler is abit S*** as its just the refernece desigh with a few more fins on the heatsink so its bit hot and abit noisey.

At least one of my release days (first batch) cards wont do more than +23mhz on the core before crashing out :(

I herd later cards clock better but I would consider getting the KFA2 670 4gb, custom cooler, better stock overclock quieter and have been as low as £360 (I paid about £420 per card on the EVGA's). I would have got them if I knew KFA2 was doing a 4gb model.

Got myself a Asus Direct CU 11 GTX 670 and must say i am impressed with the card. I had looked at the 680 but am happy that I choose the 670, saved myself some cash as well.
