***Official GTX 670 thread***

Yeah just realized that. Reference stock cards seem to do 76c when gaming, the reference card has a very poor HS on it, too much or not enough thermal paste could bump temps up a bit, yours has a slight OC on it but I wouldn't expect 90c temps because of it. I would put the higher temps down to a poor HS contact due to poorly applied thermal paste.

Is yours a short PCB 670, or the one with the after market cooler? His temps are about normal for a stock cooler.

Mines the short ref cooler.

Standard clocks mine never went above 70 degrees. Overclocked it used to go over 70 and throttle.

Now running more voltage, 12** boost and 80% fan speed it still never hits 80 degrees!

I guess I can look around for some Arctic Silver or similar and re-seat the heatsink .. is removing / replacing the heatsink difficult on these?

Not really. I did it on mine, a few screws and off it pops :)

It's only mounted onto the core on mine, the memory and VRMs are passively cooled

Ok, I'll give that a go if I can find the tube of AS that I have somewhere - not used any in ages.

The room temp in my case will be a factor as well - always between 27-30c which will be a factor. Card seems to sit around 37c or so in idle.

Planing on investing in two evga 4gb 670s, does anyone know if they are the short ref pcb? As I'm going to put them under water so if they are the short pcb then they will be able to fit in my current case.

looking to upgrade from my 580 gtx for nvidia surround, looking at the price to performance ratio 670 seems the way to go, im definately thinking SLI, anyone else made the jump from a 580?

Ordered my 670 late last night. Should be a huge upgrade from a GTX 460!

Thats what im upgrading from 460 768mb.

Couldnt resist the 670 FTW for £309.

Question regarding drivers, do i just swap cards as i already have the latest drivers installed.
