Hi all,
Looking at picking one of these up (MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC 2048MB) tomorrow as wondered if anybody has one and what are they like?
I am upgrading from a 570 and seems a suitable upgrade.
cheers,
For the Gigabyte Windforce cards, how is the warranty handled?
Do I need to register the product somewhere or is it all handled by OcUK?
Well with the bios modded, 1.21v and 100% fan speed my reference KFA670 is currently at 1270 odd core boost and +375 on memory and is running fine. It ran at just over 13** core when I first flashed it but it throttled quite badly due to heat.
Needs better cooling as the card hits the lower 70s but for the reference card i'm pretty impressed.
Sounds like a jet engine though
ok managed to flash my windforce 3x using gigabyte@bios and mod bios from overclock.net cant believe it is so easy lol
went from 1254 (Stock bios)to 1283 core clock. passed 1 unigine bench and still testing if its stable. tried +100 core for 1300 mhz but failed
What are people's thoughts on KFA2 EX OC vs Gigabyte Windforce? I'm upgrading from a stock GTX 570. I think both are quiet but which has better OC potential?
I think both have two-slot coolers and the only differences seems to be that the KFA2 comes with higher clocks out of the box but the Gigabyte comes with a 3 year warranty (damn ugly blue PCB though!). I would expect to sell it at about the 2 year mark.
Picked up an MSI GTX 670 OC 2Gb today, first time owning a higher end card - upgraded from a GTS450
Just wanted to check what sort of temps are acceptable at stock speeds (not planning to clock..) , currently under full load stays between 88-90c
Also is it a problem if TDP goes over 100%? Never saw TDP value in the past on my old card
Those temps are quite high for a stock card. Hopefully someone like Rusty will offer a more informed opinion than me but I believe some of the 670/680 cards throttle back after they hit 70c. Would be a good idea to keep an eye on your core speeds using afterburner while you are running a heaven bench.
If you have it in a cramped case with poor airflow then I would expect high temps with a card that blows the heat back in the case. If this is not the case then those temps do sound high for a 670 with the Twin Frozr cooler on.
