***Official GTX 670 thread***

Figured it out. When I was using EVGA and applying the Core clock, it was applying it to the idle clocks (which were like 300mhz). So, I kept thinking it wasnt going over the 1099, but when I went in to a game, the full boost kicked in and hence I kept getting a RSOD.

Newbie mistake, all sorted now :D

Oh yea, the card rocks! So nice being in GW2 and not getting FPS lag due to big boss fights.

Excellent news! :)

Hope you enjoy the card. Now I just need to figure out what to move too. My wife's HD7770 overclocked by 25% is comically slow in Eyefinity (although fine for 1080p & high settings).

does the rattle / buzz happens at around 60-65% fan speed?

mine does it but its more of buzzing/vibration instead of the bearing rattle sound

Yeah i think its about that, and yep, its like a vibration. When i get time i'm going to investigate it further.....

FYI my WF 670 is near its limit @ +100 on the core. The max stable boost i can get is 1300MHz.

Without more volts its sounds like +100 is your limit! Thats not bad tho! :)

Really, i expected a lot more, maybe i am expecting too much, will leave it at +85 then able to keep it under 70c then with acceptable noise. Time to move onto the memory.

Suppose its already clocked a bit over reference as well.

IIRC the EVGA 670 FTW stock core clock is ~1GHz so +100 is good.

What does it boost to?

edit:
Done some google-fu

Stock 915MHz
EVGA FTW 1,006MHz

Your core o/c limit 1106MHz = 191MHz over stock = 20% increase from referance non boost clock! :)

Notice the stutter at the start of the benchmark? That causes a drop for me in min fps but then it shoots right up. Your average FPS is fine and your score is too.

Thanks :) just the news I was looking for but was concerned at the low number when I saw it.
