***Official GTX 670 thread***

If I can hit 1300Mhz stable in games like BF3 and Metro 2033 but crash in Heaven is that safe to use as daily clocks? Heaven is stable at 1280 though.

This is my performance playing tdm in bf3

So I DSR'd my Palit GTX 670 JetStream because the noise was just unbearable.

Replaced it with the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X which came today, can't believe the silence of it! :)

Only problem is the ASIC is only 78%, meaning it only boosts to 1084MHz and can only take a slight overclock.

I've already put in the RMA for it, seeing as most people seem to have 100% ASIC on here and can overclock it to 1300MHz+

Replacement should be here Tuesday/Wednesday so hoping for 100% ASIC :)

You can actually RMA if you don't like the ASIC? Weird...

dont get ur hopes too high for a gb wf that will go to 1300mhz. it might reach 1200s but not so easy with 1300

i have a gb wf but it wont go above 1260 even with a custom bios that increases the voltage

I'm not too bothered about getting it to 1300MHz, I'll probably just leave it on stock.

Just want it to be 100% ASIC and have a better stock boost.

Don't be surprised if your rma is rejected based on asic and boost unless the advert specifically mentioned certain speeds. I believe 980 is core clock for these cards and boost varies.

Not being disrespectful... but I doubt if the majority of folks have an ASIC of 100%. Not even convinced how reliable / meaningful this figure actually is.

And I would also disagree that most will hit 1300MHz and be totally/fully stable.

My card only has an ASIC of 91.5% and boosts at stock to 1163MHz and with a little tweaking can easily hit 1250MHz+ fully stable.

Though obviously up to the individual and I do appreciate this is a fair bit of money to pay and if not totally happy, then as you've done... there's always the DSR. But surprised if any retailer would process it as an RMA for either a low ASIC value / low OCing ability! But stranger things have happened.

Good luck.

My RMA was accepted without any problems, I even stated that it was because of the low ASIC and not good at overclocking.

The replacement will be delivered on Tuesday then I send the one I have now back.

I know some people don't agree with this, but I feel if I pay for something I should be happy with it.

I'm glad it looks like it's going to work out for you :)

And I personally agree that if you are not happy with a product, then you have the right to send it back. Very much up to the individual how they want to handle this sort of thing. Others may, as you say, disagree... but that's just life.

Fingers crossed that your replacement is better.

Thanks, appreciate your positive input :)

At dneill2006 - I was in your shoes exactly. I got a Gigabyte 670 Windforce which was a terrible overclocker - won't go past 1180 on the core. I was going to DSR it and ordered an EVGA FTW 670 to replace it.
Whilst waiting to DSR the gig WF and the EVGA one arrived I thought, what the hell, I've got a spare 670 hanging around here, I've got to try them in SLI haven't I? Would be silly not to :)
So, even though the gig WF is a poor overclocker, when you're running SLI 670's overclocking isn't really a concern to me now, so it's all good as the WF runs super cool and quiet. But I would have DSR'd it like you are if I didn't go SLI though.
