***Official GTX 670 thread***

Not yet I don't think Jay, I think KingPin did some hard-mod to enable over-voltage and pushed near 2ghz core on phase cooling. If thats a sign of what it takes to over-volt a 680 then special editions of the card like the KFA2 HOF will be required to go higher as they have custom voltage controllers that can be adjusted.

Gradually working through the 30+ pages on OCN about the X3, so far it seems there are allot of unhappy 680 owners :p

Age old argument. You can also overclock the 680 too ;)

The GTX 680 will still only be like 2% faster clock for clock.

Why do they double side the Vram chips on the 2 Gb reference design instead of putting them all on the front? I dont like that!

I think we might find only the 680 will have 4gb versions. Nvidia will make us pay the premium if we want extreme performance at ultra Res.

I don't think so, I mean after all the 570 had a 2.5GB revision. Looking at the 670 PCB there are 4 empty banks for another 2GB of memory...

AIBs will make 4 Gb versions.

Its strange that they put 4 chips on the front, and 4 on the back instead of all 8 on the front for the reference design, its easier to cool them with all the vram chips on the front.

Yes strange with the chips double sided like that, still they don't require much cooling I don't think. Let's I am wrong and these come out with a 4gb variant. A 4gb 670 at under 400 quid would be a bit more reasonable for people wanting to sli for multi screen gaming.

...don't.....I should have waited and got 670 SLI if these review details are accurate :( .

Surely this will kill 680 and 690 sales if the price is right though?

mid range cards are always better value than top end cards, yet some people still always buy top end cards because they can, as you go up the range it's always a case of diminishing returns... otherwise no one would be buying 680's and everyone would be getting 7970's because they are almost as fast as a 680 but cheaper

having said that, if the 4GB 670's are under 400 quid I am well tempted to get a pair of them instead of a pair of 4GB 680's

I think more importantly for Nvidia is this could lure away 7950/7970 sales.

It all does look very very promising, hopefully we will see some more reviews coming out in the next 48 hours.

I got £170 for my old CPU, mobo, and ram, then I buy one GTX 670 and sell my 560 tis :)

Makes perfect sense!

Then in the future if I need to, I can get a second, or even the dual GPU version if one ever lauches and tri SLI!

Would be nice to know from Gibbo when the NDA ends, if he can put them up straight away at 00:01 on Thursday morning.

The 690 NDA was 2pm UK time, since they decided to launch it 9am east coast of america (New York). The 680 was also 9am east coast but translated into 1pm UK since it was the Thursday before we put our clocks forward.

So if Nvidia stick to the same pattern then it should be 2pm UK again.

People getting well annoyed on OCN that their GTX680 is getting beat or ~same results as the GTX670 in 3D Mark 11.

Yup, that is pretty much what I established too after 30 pages of "those 3dMark11 results must be wrong" :p

Very excited about Thursday as it stands :D
