***Official GTX 670 thread***

Sorry if this has come up before but where does the 670 lie in relation to the 7950 & 7970?

Can't decide if I want the Gigabyte 670 or wait to see if AMD lower the price of the above two cards?

It looks like the reference card could be on par with the 7970.

That KFA2 PCB doesn't look full 680 reference. This is what it should look like. Would appear at least for now, those wanting to watercool will have to stick with the windforce :)

Edit: Yup that KFA2 PCB is the same as the HOF, no waterblocks for those. It could also mean no voltage restrictions too though? And to rub it in to Bhavv, the HOF edition 680 has a white PCB, why KFA2 couldn't use that for the 670, only they can answer :)

Manually OCed 7970=Auto OCed 680 (ie 680 with "turbo boost").

7950=580gtx+ a bit more

So I'm assuming the KFA2 will be cheaper than the gigabyte? Only 2 year warranty, not a reference 680 PCB, and a weaker cooler, but still better tan the others. At least the blue us darker on it so it won't look bad when installed.

I'm hoping there will be some 4GB models out at launch.
If they're good I'd be tempted to go with 3, but running on air I imagine I'd have airflow problems. Will really need to see how close these get to 680s.
I went for 570SLI 'last time' so might be tempted by 670SLI this time, depending on the performance and price difference.

Luckily/Unfortunately the 4GB 680s don't look like they'll be in stock for more than a week, so have a bit of time to decide and cancel my pre-order if the 670 is suitably impressive.

Or I might treat myself...

Or I might get whatever is available first.

Here is a picture of the GTX 670 DirectCU II TOP

I know that Asus warranty is bad, but thats a full length PCB, dual slot for a change, and colour matches my Asus mobo the best.

Is it 2 x 6 pin or 8 + 6 pin though?

It also appears to have a backplate!

So it has to priced between a reference and KFA2 / Gigabyte to be worth buying, but knowing Asus it will be the most expensive model.

I lost track - so when is the NDA coming off? and will these go on sale as soon as that occures?
and Azza or Gibbo are there any short pcbs with a non reference cooler (something that isnt one of those enclosed blowers?)

NDA finishes at 2PM, so they will go on sale then. Don't be surprised if it's earlier though, some people like to jump the gun.

I haven't seen any shorts pcbs with non reference coolers yet, they'll probably be a couple though, but we'll have to wait and see.

Well surely if that KFA2 PCB might have removed voltage limitations (or at least reduced them) then that would lead to a card that could overclock higher than the windforce correct?

I really want SLI non reference 670 windforces, but if there too expenisve for me im more than happy to go with the cheaper non reference whatever that will be.

Also im out of the loop on what nvidia brands are good and which ones to avoid. I know that EVGA, KFA2 and Gigabyte are the best ones.
