***Official GTX 670 thread***

Wait, I forget, is it HeX or Helios that wirtes reviews on Vortez?

Erm right, I think the above sig answers my question lol.

Leak me info via trust!

Don't bother with Tweaktown... they're *********, stupid and their review format is just generally terrible.

The purposefully break NDAs as an FU to Nvidia...

What NDA`s are they breaking if they have not signed one to begin with? That is what I understood from reading the review on their site. Do agree that they come across as little childish sometime.

whats wrong with tweaktown!!!

They're petty, pathetic and childish... they even posted up a huge whinge at Nvidia as to why they thought they didn't receive a 690 for a launch review. Trying to make it in to something it's not.

If their attitude wasn't so bad and hadn't been bad for a long time, they might actually have a semi-reasonable relationship with NV.

Plus the reviews are just generally terrible. Most of their 680SLI reviews focused on 1920x1080... who in their right mind would buy 680SLI for that resolution. Ok, they did touch on 2560x1600 for a small number of tests... but they just seem to be out of touch with the hardware they're tasked to review.

Ive used AMD and Nvidia cards had no actual problems with either. Your kidding yourself if you think AMD drivers have more problems than Nvidia's, you only need to check the Nvidia forums to see just how many people have problems with the drivers..

Back on topic, looking forward to seeing 670 prices, if any come in at £300 I will grab one to replace GTX 480 SLI..

Maybe that is the case. I can only comment from my own experiences with my 5870.

Every month the drivers are totally unremarkable. Hardly any performance increases, just simply bug fixes. More often than not drivers make things go south.

Latest drivers have reduced performance on my 5870 for a number of games, the 12.2 drivers totaly borked skyrim for me.

----

Where as the Nvidia drivers, LOOK like they deliever real features and performance boosts. accross the whole range of their product line up.

----

Anyway I hope your wrong with Nvidia being just as **** as AMD in the driver department, becuase I plan on buying a 670 as I have had enough of AMD's boring drivers...

i admit i havnt read many of their reviews but the few i have read i find pretty good,i use their forums thats why i asked,it probably doesnt match up to others as they are usually the first with reviews ect? suppose it comes down to what hardware they are sent engineering pre release stuff ect idk

May have been Gibbo, if not someone else who mentioned that OCUK didn't sign an NDA for the 670s either... yet they've kept to it out of principle.

Just as a lot of review sites do... not many of them actually sign the NDA.

Breaking NDA causes issues for the businesses that provide this hardware to us... while we might like to see info as soon as we can... the better option is to wait.

Tweaktown to it purposefully to anger nvidia.

Their reviews are always terrible, and their results never marry up with anyone else.

dont know - but ya the whole nvda thing with tweaktown was a bit 'overdramatic' but whatever - I got a 670 review early ...

I generally like review sites that have tested many other of the same type of product and does accurate comparisons for sound/heat/power/overclocking
To be honest I dont really care about the zillion games that all the reviews seem to test these cards with. errrr ok ya its faster then 7950 ... cool ... next ...

In order to provide that review/preview... the card they used was technically stolen.

That's worse than "just" breaking an NDA.

Had multiple ati and Nvidia cards. Never had a Nvidia card die on me. Had 3 ati cards die on me. Only had driver troubles once with Nvidia every ati card I have used had nothing but driver problem. Now I refuse to point blank touch ati cards.

Saying this tho you can guarantee that someone else will have had opposite exsperiances.

Yeah I can claim the opposite experience, not had any driver issues with my current AMD card but had driver issues with my old Nvidia and had one Nvidia that died too

I don't read that much into it unless there are serious issues, you are always going to hear about the people who have problems over the people who have a satisfactory experience.

nothing wrong with ati cards or nvidia, you will always run into issues with either brand

never had driver trouble from my old x1950 pro through to current 5870,youd be amazed what a clean windows install can do for graphic card trouble
