***Official GTX 670 thread***

So yours are super silent from switch on and don't get quieter in windows? Maybe you can't hear it in your case with other fans etc? I've got the Silverstone FT02-W with fans on low, so I can hear any loud component.

Yea I will only hear it when I set it to 50% manually. only fans that I have are the 3 big ones from the haf x and 2x 120 fan for my antec 620 so im pretty sure the card doesnt go 100% during power on

The loudest thing I can here now, in my case, is the HDD. I can't believe how quiet this card is. Had a 570 with stock cooler before this and I thought that was quiet. The silence is ...eerie.

Just managed a run through heaven at 1370, think it can still go higher but I just get random driver failures.

Anyone shed some light on this? Is the 'driver stopped responding and recovered' Nvidia's way of saying that's enough? As I've had no artefacts at all so far.

Hmmm, i'm seriously thinking about getting one of these..... If you were me would you get the Gigabyte Windforce or the KFA2 EX OC? :)

I'm leaning towards the GB card at the moment....

I'm bored of benching heaven now. For the record I get 72fps at stock - 1163 and at +100 on the clock I get 75 1263. I'm off to play as nature intended.

Just tried the fans at 100% and they are quite loud, not annoying but loud, so I slightly mis-quoted the fan speed on start up, they aren't 100% on full, maybe about 40% ish? but still well over the standard 20% idle.

Your HAF X will be noisy than my setup so I guess that is why you maybe don't notice the difference?

I have a similar dilema. Also considering KFA2 ref card. I am personally edging towards KFA2 as UK rma and their cs has been good in the past.

Sounds like it.

Thats what happens to me when I reach max oc. If only you could increase the voltage a bit more.

Keeping an eye on this thread which was highlighted on overclock.net forum, it appears Norbit now picks up 680/670 bios and people have successfully up'd the power rating from 111-130 to 150% vis bios mods, things could get interesting :)

Big thanks Saltius! i will let you know how it goes on monday!

Do you thing the gtx 670 will be able to flash to an 680 bios?

Some one has done it on those GTX670 which actually use 680 PCBs.

No more shaders, but higher clocks and larger power limit
which can be directly tweaked on 670 bios though.

So I think it is of no point to do the flashing.

I assume we will see a Twin Frozr from MSI at some point?

Also, i take it the Asus DirectCU II isn't worth considering?

If its below 45% then I prbbly dont hear it :D
