****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

1680 on a GTX480 is insulting to the good people of Nvidia. Get a nice Dell U2711 and stretch its legs a bit.

Wow not much overclocking going on guys. This is getting worrying.

Why are you getting arsey Raven ?

How is that trolling ? I'm looking for overclocking numbers and I'm posting in the ****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread**** and wading through your spam.

Yes stock in the one above now here we go again with a sneaky overclock. Core clock increased to 826mhz and shader 1652mhz

Temp is now up from max of 78 degrees to max of 81 degrees

Yeah It would do it easily :P but for now I'm back to stock speeds to keep things simple. Some more benchies for everyone :D

For a comparison here is my GTX 295's results with streetfighter at a lower res and lower AA setting

The 580 at these lower settings averaged 259FPS

FFXIV Benchmark @ 1920

Sorry can't supply screeny, I clicked on the screen at the end and it closed down.. Too late for another run..

I did notice a score of 5999 (I'm about 99% sure of this) and a load time of about 13200 or so..

During the run I noticed my temps hit a max of 80 deg, fan speed @ 59%.

Hmm pondering about my Xmas upgrade, get another GTX480 and go SLI with my current GTX480 or sell it and get 2 GTX580s? Seems from reviews that 2 GTX580 hits the CPU bottleneck.

That's a good result.

One thing that still suprises me with the card is just how quiet it is. At idle with the side panel off I couldn't even hear it. Under load it doesn't whine like any other card I've owned. This is quieter than my 295, 280 OC, 5870. The other thing is at stock speed, max temps of 78 seem quite good and the temp soon drops back to the 36 degree idle when returning to the desktop.
