****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

^^ 480 one looks like the bench has not been ran once before benched as to cache the textures in to memory, stutters occur otherwise causing low min.

Well I found that with my 580 the image quality it far superior to that of my old 5870's
Very happy with my purchase

Am I the only one who doesn't have unlocked voltage adjustment?? :(

I'm using afterburner, the latest beta version and ticked the appropriate boxes but still unable to change the voltage!

Maybe it's a Gigabyte thing? If it is i'm truely annoyed because I ordered an EVGA from somewhere and it was shown in stock only to find out their website hadn't updated!? in my impatience I settled for the giga that was in stock. (I guess I should have waited)

At stock volts I can only overclock to around 820mhz on the core.

I know what you mean mate, i went from a 5850 to a 470 and i could see a difference, i did prefer it just not sure if it was all in my head because i wanted to see a difference. One of lifes mysteries :)

Going from my 295 to the 580 I noticed the desktop looked a bit brighter, almost like the gamma had shot up and I found myself looking through my monitor menu to see if I had accidently changed something.

Sharpness wise it's still just as crisp as it was though.

Have you tried editing the config file in the installation directory? All 580's are reference cards I think so they should all be able to adjust voltages...

That's what I thought. Just looking on my pc here and changing the settings in afterburner doesn't update the config. So as you say it needs doing manually so I will try this when I get home and hopefully it will work. ;)

Well booting up an running through dos my 5870 is much sharper than 580gtx.
Bios menus too.
580gtx had a slight a slight haze. This is a fact on my setup. 3d there's nothing in it.
2D amd has the edge.

Oh btw there is no placebo effect here 5870 to 580 back to 5870 and soon back to 580gtx.

Just use Nvidia inspector to begin with.
