****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

i have a tagan 750 watt psu with 4 6pin connectors,if i get an 8 pin converter will it work?,one of the 6pin connectors is for a gpu

^^^ u got a nice one there 1.012 on stock :-)

That baby should hit 950! I had mine 920mhz 1.138.

Yeah, an extra 103mhz on the core over stock with an increase of just 0.062v just shows the potential really. Temps are only 2 or 3 degrees more than stock too :D

After 900 I hit a bit of a wall though and start to see some artifacting in heaven then again I was a little hesitant to give it the 1.138volts of juice.

I would have said it would be fine. Personally I've never liked using converters on graphics cards but at the end of teh day they ship the cards with molex converters so in your case a 6pin converter would be even better I would think.

what app you guys using to unlock volts ?
i take it afterburner isnt 100% 580 compatable yet ?
can get volt dial to unlock on mine

Voided the warranty already, good man.

Images can be resized you know , its like sitting in the front row in the pictures :p

What voltages are you using ? and what do you get in the Crysis fly through ?

I think that Asus card is the fastest GTX580 I have seen. Looks like keeping the core under 50c has really helped.

The water block am using is off my old 480GTX EKfull cover! All i have done to the block is put a extra thermal pad on the vrms!Works a treat the volts i was running for that run where 1.075!

Finally, I got my gtx 580. Been a ati's user for the last 2 years, I managed to sell my xfx 5970 for £330 and got this gtx 580 for £340.

Well booting up an running through dos my 5870 is much sharper than 580gtx.

I have the POV GTX 580 too and noticed the DOS bootup screen looking a little softer but it doesn't bother me at all as once it hits the desktop, the image looks as crisp and sharp as it did with my previous HD 5870 CFX setup. It is odd though because I'd have said that was down to the scaling on the graphics card (since DOS isn't native 1920x1200), only at that point it is the monitor that is presumably doing the scaling.

I have to say that I'm delighted with my GTX 580. I've lost some performance going from an HD 5870 CFX setup, yes, but considering that not all games made use of CFX (and if they did, didn't always scale well), I'm happy in the knowledge that *all* my games can benefit from the card not just the ones the driver supports! I only had my HD 5870 CFX for seven months but in that time I seemed to be taking a lot of time trying to get many multiformat PC games working properly without negative scaling that I realised I was actually spend less time playing them! Free of CFX (and SLI for that matter), I'm hoping that I have far less hassle with games now I'm back to running a single card for good. I play games at 60 fps with v-sync on so the loss of performance, which is only apparent from running benchmarks anyway, isn't a big deal. CrossFireX was perhaps a bit overkill for me anyway but, hey, at least I finally tried multi-GPU gaming even if I wasn't that impressed with it.

I did do a number of benchmarks comparing my GTX 580 with the previous CFX setup though if anyone is interested? If you are then they can be found in this post *here*. I don't intend overclocking or overvolting the card though as I see no point when the card is more that powerful enough for my needs. I suspect that will make my post a lot less interesting than others but as this is a benchmark thread I thought I'd contribute regardless.
