****Official GTX580 user reviews/benchmarking/overclocking thread****

My msi card says the subvendor is nvidia, and as far as ive seen Evga and ASus are the only ones that show themselves as the subvendor

What make is that card ? The sub vendor is down as Nvidia ?

The max clocks on my Gainward card are 920core/1075mem. 930core or 1100mem causes glitches within Heaven loops, although Vantage will run ok at 950/1200.

It certainly beats my crap GTX 480 which is now relegated to my second system. That dog will only do 730 on the core with complete stabilty.

and what volts did u use for 950 ?
920 seems to be as far as it goes without the fps dropping right down

My PNY card needs 1.125v for 937, won't go any higher even with 1.137v.

Can do 850 at 1.050v which is alright for gaming, doesnt increase noise and heat much.

Oh god the more i read this thread the more i wanna get a 580.... :(:D

Whats the story with the new ATI cards? worth waiting for maybe?

Should i get a 580 and sell the 480... I'm in the same boat as Raven!

I have seen few posts mentioned, if you got the 480 keep it and oc it a bit to get 580 speed.

What is the easiest way to find my max oc ?
What comes 1st in terms of clocks ie set gpu to highest then work mem to work with max core ?

That's a silly argument because you can just OC a 580 also, which OC even further and scale better when OC'd ;)

yeah but for the price increase? is the increased cost of getting a new 580 going to outweigh any sufficient increase in performance....or is it another scenario of bang for buck increases getting less and less for more expensive CPU's for example?

Price doesn't really matter when you're talking high end enthusiast hardware. It's always overpriced.
