Usual problem with weight deliveries too - 25kg of plates in a thin cardboard box. Weights 1, Box 0!

XDP? My squat rack comes in 2 boxes and I got 1 of them yesterday. So I have half a rack... XDP decided to split the delivery.
 
DPD! Looking at the tracking 1 of the 5 packages left the Hinckley Hub 2 hours after the rest so I guess just got chucked on the wrong lorry somehow?! Still I'm not really in a fit state to build/use right now so not entirely upset!
 
Rack is here and setup. The hooks are bare metal and it doesn't feel nice on my bar so I'm thinking of wrapping something around the bar (duck tape???) where the bar commonly sits in the hooks to protect it. Anyone done similar?

I had the very same experience with my Mirafit squat rack earlier this year.

The clanging of the metal on metal made me cringe as I could see chunks of my black bar dissapearing.

I bought some of this off amazon, cut it to the right size and stuck it down with the adhesive back to try.

Works a dream so have now stuck it down with superglue :)

I may see how I get on without anything, but if I did do anything it would likely be around the bar where it racks.
 
Mine was always metal hooks and the clanging when re-racking never bothered me. Got some spare hooks and it had some rubbery stuff on it and I found it irritating so ripped it off.

In other news my 5th box from my weight stack showed up with the cardboard in shocking condition but securely repacked by DPD. I'll get a photo up later.
 
I'm finding it disappointing that plates are going for so much on ebay or just impossible to source online. I bought 4 x 5kg plates not long ago for £20 delivered and it seems to be over £100 for anything similar now :(

Anyone have any suggestions where I could source some please?
