** Official Horizon: Forbidden West Complete Edition Thread **

I might fully play this one with controller only for a change, be nice to kick back and play rather than lounge over the desk I reckon.

Did you grab a PS5 controller in the end? The haptics/adaptive triggers work really nice in this game on PS5 so should work the same on PC.

I'll be doing the opposite - playing on mouse and keyboard for this one after completing it on controller on PS5! Excited to finally be able to actually aim the bow and arrow where I want it to go...

Yep. I will be using my PS5 controller I think.

HZD I played with a controller on PS4 Pro then K&M on pc. For this one I want to see how I get on with the controller as it is a game that also makes full use of the PS5 controller.

Nope I got the 8BitDo Ultimate instead as it has some features I specifically wanted like hall effect triggers and sticks. The dual sense still needs wired mode for adaptive triggers in most games, a few IIRC work wirelessly though.

Biggest gripe with the PlayStation controllers are the D-pad. I just don't like the way they are laid out as they have no central rocker point. I grew up with Nintendo D-pads and they just feel much nicer to use because of that central rocker.

Unrelated - but this is such a nicely framed picture.

So since Steam unlocks it at 3PM, there's no getting in there early then lol. Everyone will be playing at the same time. 122GB download btw and preload now available.

Cd keys not shown key yet, says only available 22 March for me. But not worried I wanna finish ff7 rebirth first anyway

This week is crazy busy for games, I really want to play this on day one but Dragons Dogma is out the next day and I've been waiting for that for a while. That plus Alone in the Dark today, I'm really going to need a priority planner (and a few sick days....)

In a world first, CD Keys have released the keys (log in to get your key on the site). Preload is gonna finish in 14 mins.

But because it's Steam, the unpacking of a preload of a game this big will take ages no doubt regardless of SSD/CPU just because Steam doesn't leverage the full bandwidth of SSDs or multithread CPUs for decrypt and unpack. In those situations downloading in real-time is much faster as it unpacks/decrypts as it downloads on a fast connection.

Also, Steam showing this banner:

Start playing now huh....

Edit* You cannot play now :(

Nice. I will also wait and download after release. Rather not do unpacking.
