** Official ** January 2010 Transfer Thread- Rumours & Speculation in here

Hurrah! Reckon his goal against the mancs was probably worth 2.5m alone :p

Just reading up on it, looks like Voronin may also be on the way out imminently, paving the way for Maxi.

So wait...Liverpool are going to sell a striker and bring in a winger? I thought for sure that Rafa's first priority would be a new striker.

striker? Have you seen him play? Being serious here, we might as well play a one legged midget. In fact a one legged midget would have better ball control and finishing!

O'Hara delivers good set pieces but I wouldn't describe him as Top4 calibre. Surprised Pompey have been allowed to extend him loan though, I can only imagine Spurs are paying some/all his wages.

Real Madrid are ready to capitalise on the growing rift between Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson and Nemanja Vidic by bidding for the defender. Vidic was a late withdrawal for Sunday's FA Cup match against Leeds, which United lost 1-0.

didnt know there was a rift and thought he pulled out through injury worry.

If rumours are to be believed he is also after RVN. Still will have to wait to see what happens with that though, could be interesting with him in the team.

Apparently Fergie when asked about Vidic's injury said something along the lines of " I couldn't tell you whats wrong with Vidic, he just told me he couldn't play today" and supposedly had a rather bemused/angry look on his face. Which paper people interpreted as Vidic is fed up playing and made up an excuse to not play and not risk getting injured while trying to get signed by Real.

I don't instantly jump to the latter myself, but Fergies response was a touch odd, Fergie doesn't seem like the type to just accept a player saying "I really don't feel like i can play today boss", "Whats wrong with you ", "meh", which gives a little weight to the idea something a little weird is going on.

Middlesbrough favourites to sign Kris Boyd - wouldn't be a bad signing in my opinion. Someone to lead the line is what we're desperate for.

Also after Gary Caldwell - again, would be happy with that, we need a leader in defence, someone with experience next to Wheater.

Exactly. Anyway, if we are to sign Rodriguez then that would free up Kuyt as another option up top.

Hopefully we can ship out all of Dossena, Voronin, Degen and Babel then that should free up a bit more cash to sign another attacking player and probably a RB because of Johnson's injury.

Why would it be interesting? He's barely played in god knows how long because of injury problems, he's on massive money and wouldn't get into our first 11. We do need another striker but I don't think we need it as much as people making out; well we don't need somebody like RvN. I don't see how somebody like RvN with his age and injury problems is going to offer us anything extra than N'gog has offered us (who's been more than decent when he's played).

As above, if we sign Rodriguez then we'll have Kuyt as another option up front so we're not going to be desperately short of numbers (especially when we only play 1 up front anyway). However if we manage to bring in enough money to go out and sign somebody that could offer us something extra to N'gog or Kuyt (Carlton Cole is somebody I'd like us to sign) then we certainly should try and sign them.

Anyway, Rafa's said we're not after him.

I was thinking this last night, agree with everything there. However, I think we'll probably ending up keeping Babel. Will be very interested to see if we follow up on Victor Moses.

I'm not so sure that we'll be seeing much more of Babel. Rafa's denial that we're looking to sell Babel sounded more like a threat to Babel to go or sit on the bench for 6months and miss out on the WC.

There are a few reports that Birmingham are interested in signing him and have made/ready to make a bid of £8m but that we're looking for £12m. Hopefully that's true and some kind of compromise can be reached because anything over £8m would be amazing for that lazy ****.
