Sol Campbell on his way back to Arsenal???...hmmm thats interesting...just heard on SSN that Wenger will be commenting on that soon.

I've heard that Senderos is on the way out and Sol's on his way back as cover.

it's been cut from 13/8 to 1/3 on Skybet - looks a goer.

Yeah apparently if we get rid of Senderos. Personally I would have liked to have taken a gamble on Senderos and see if he could turn into the player that sometimes shows up.

I dont think Sol could offer us much now. Didnt he lack in pace last season?

The highest regard i always had for Vieira has just diminished slightly........ oh i hope the money is worth sullying your CV Pat :(

Senderos > Campbell imo, but there's obviously been some going on's behind the scene between Senderos and Wenger

Apart from his crap concentration he always lacked that burst of pace you need to get out of trouble in this league, he is never going to have that.

Do they need a player like him though? Shame he didnt come back to Arsenal but in a more coaching role and filling in for the injured.

With Song gone to the ANC, Denilson sketchy at DM at best and Diaby much better suited to a free roaming offensive role it shows how much Wenger thinks of Vieira right now ...unless there is more to it behind the scenes.

If he was ever going to come back this was the perfect time.

Seems an odd move, will he really play that much at Citeh? Old, slow and past his best, heck if Pires beats you in a tackle you know it's over and that was in 2006!

4 ex-Arsenal players at City now

I'm not sad to see the back of him but I wish him all the best. Complete professional at all times unlike dumb & dumber. The sooner they both **** off the better.

Can't wait to see what Alan can do at Wednesdays to be honest.

Feeling good about the team for once :D

Spot on. Unfortunately he's not been good enough but done all that was asked of him and never caused any problems. The goals vs the Mancs and Real make it even harder to wish him anything other than the best of luck.

Money! I heard that he's on £100k and got a £10m signing on fee, while I'm not sure it was as much as £10m, I bet it was close enough

there is no need to sell players to pay even more off, especially at the expensive of on the field success. Or should the club sell Gerrard, Torres, Masch and Reina and pay even more of the debt off?

Again, just because there is no NEED to sell players, doesn't mean to say it isn't a good idea if the numbers stack up. £10m for someone like Babel, plus savings in wages, would go into the coffers and potentially allow spending in future on bringing in new players.

The club should only sell Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano and Reina if they get big money offers in excess of their value (every player has a price). But there's a big difference between selling key personnel and subs who seem to want to leave and are starting to mouth off in the press. You are continually telling us how liverpool don't need any forwards, they've got adequate backup in the likes of Ngog, so why wouldn't it make sense to cash in on Babel if that would increase the potential for spending in the future (as I said, money doesn't just vanish if it isn't spent instantly)?

Your comparison to Arsenal's debt isn't exactly a fair 1 either.

My understanding is that Arsenal didn't NEED to raise £30m on transfers in the summer either, that's why there is a comparison. Arsenal sold Adebayor when they didn't need to and didn't buy a replacement, same situation as Babel. They sold him because he was overvalued and not a favourite with fans.
