** Official ** January 2010 Transfer Thread- Rumours & Speculation in here

Anderson is the answer...

but he needs someone who can do the dirty work for him... so that he doesnt have to run forward, and make the last man tackles in the same breath.

He is a good player but again, very inconsistent... seems to be the same across the team at the moment apart from Rooney...

Although I think a midfield of Obertan - Anderson - Hargreaves - Valencia would be very very nice.

In other news...

Portsmouth have signed Quincy Owusu-Abeyie from Spartak Moscow on loan until the end of the season.

Pompey had their transfer embargo, which was placed on them by the Premier League for outstanding payments to other clubs, lifted on Tuesday and manager Avram Grant has wasted no time in bringing new talent in.

The former Arsenal forward has had loan spells with the likes of Spanish outfit Celta Vigo, Birmingham and Cardiff in the past few years.

The 23-year-old has been with Spartak since January 2006 but has made less than 30 league appearances for the Russian giants.

The forward should go straight into the squad for the away trip to Manchester City on Saturday

Ah once dubbed the next big thing at Arsenal much like Bentley was, I wonder how many years till we're saying the same about Ramsey and Wilshire :p

All the rumours are that Anderson is on his way out of the club, he does have some great games followed by some forgettable ones, but SAF is said to like him so who knows

(a lot of people around the club blame him for the CL loss to Barca, bit unfair imo to just blame him)

Not sure how valid the rumours are

Would be nice just to see OH play again!!!

Considering Anderson joined the same day as Nani I'd say if either are on their way out it will be Nani but hopefully the game against Hull will be the turning for him

Anderson wont be going anyway IMO, far too much potential to just ship him out after only 3 seasons

Arsenal - maybe but cant see AW actually going for it

Far to many players at the club who can play in the same role. Plenty of attack minded players. Rosicky, Nasri, Arshavin, Vela, Eduardo etc.

He'd be a good signing though, and was linked with the club whilst he was at West Ham.

Ramsey has played far more than both of those two already, and Wilshere has featured in twice as many league games as Bentley did, but if we make the same kind of money we did on Bentley for someone who played 1 game you can't complain.

To be fair Ramsey & Wilshere have both played more games than Quincey already, and (certainly in Ramsey's case) have shown that they can cut it.

And who knows...Owusu Obeye may propel Portsmouth into the UEFA cup spots :p

supposedly he isnt even meant to be in Brazil at the moment - yet he has been photographed talking to an old boss/mentor

without doubt he has performed better than Nani (who I personally cant stand seeing on the team sheet, let alone playing)

I guess we will find out in the summer if not sooner

.

Exactly what I was thinking - and arguably better/more reliable and consistant also

Scholes will very likely retire come the end of this season along with Neville. Fletcher is fantastic at getting at the opposition midfield, and pushing us forward albeit not always effectively, he makes runs and gets into good goalscoring opportunities unlike both Carrick and Scholes. Carrick, now as a passer he can be superb, but to be honest he lacks balls. If we could combine Carrick and Fletcher into one footballer, then we'd have some midfielder on our hands. We need a creative player in midfield and have done for years especially since Ronaldo left. Anderson may come good and show us all the form he did in his first season. I don't know how much of an effect Queiroz leaving had on him, but I've noticed it of a few players since his departure. He's still very young and shows a lot of heart, so I'm hoping he does show his potential.

Scholes has been offered a new deal so I doubt he's going to retire, not this summer anyway

Contracts mean nothing these days, if at the end of the season he thinks he can continue he will but if he doesn't he'll retire. I hope he makes it known he's going to retire a few games in advance so the fans can give him a proper send off. He'll get a testimonial but I think fans would prefer to give him a good send off in his last competitive match. It'll be a sad day as he's been incredible for us over his career.

Quincy's back? Awesome. I thought he was dead.

How many games did he actually play for us? I remember him being hyped, but I honestly can't remember a single performance of his in an Arsenal shirt. Some loan to a championship club, then bosh, gone. I saw more of him in Pro Evo.

23 appearances. Only 8 starts. 2 goals. That's from Arsenal.com so I suspect it includes friendlies and such. I believe he took part in 5 league games, so not really a huge amount.

While he can still play like he has tonight then he's staying as far as I'm concerned, he's been spraying the ball all over the place
